Rice (NY) 59 Mason Co 48

Final.

Game goes back and forth, Royals open up a 7 point lead, 40-33, early in the 4th. I believe they had a 45-42 lead midway through the 4th, just couldn't hang on.

I'm sure they were exhausted, but give Rice credit for hitting the free throws down the stretch and getting the job done. Royals will need to bounce back for one more game tomorrow against Iolani before getting a flight home and getting a little bit of rest before the 5/3rd.

Mason only shot about 32% for the game and had three killer turnovers against the press when Rice made their big run. Rice made 15-16 FT's in the fourth QTR.

Final score does not reflect how close this game was or the fact that Mason Co. had everything in place to take command in the final minutes.

Overall a good showing for Mason as they had the #10 team in tha nation down by 7 in the 4th,After just beating the#15 team the night before.Shots will start falling when the competion tones down a liittle as they wont face any teams like these in KY.Good job guys so far lets finish today and go home 3-1 and ready for the 5/3.

The Royals are giving some of the best teams in the country everything they want! WAY TO SHOW EM HOW WE PLAY IN KENTUCKY!

The Royals don't have anything to be ashamed of here. Darius struggled all night as did Setty. Middleton and King played very well! After talking with someone in attendance, it was a very physical game and the fans were upset with the officiating.

Thank goodness tonight's game is at 8:30 instead of last night's all nighter! That one was hard on us back home.

Mason County has represented Kentucky very well. We're proud of you!!! Good luck tonight and hurry home (safely)!

I believe 3-1 in this particular tourney is as good as any team from Kentucky could do.:thumb:

Even the best lose every now and then.

Game might be a little later due to the late start of the Mason Co girls game vs Lincoln Co.

I'll be honest my nerves were on edge for a couple days during this tourney.

About like they would have been watching them in state.

Royals did a great job and I am proud of them all.:thumb:

Of course you post your thoughts on the ONE GAME THEY LOST THREAD! :madman:

Kidding, kidding. It was a very nerve wracking few days, but in the end, it didn't turn out too bad.

Yeah, sorry about that but I have been sulking for a day or two.

I really hated to see UC not land Kemba Walker. He's such a high quality PG...
