All right , Cake-eaters...we know we were "all that and a bag of chips" this year...I want your thoughts on who were the one's we played AGAINST that impressed you! Here's mine:

K - Kaufman, Ryle

QB - Chaz Harp, Madison Central

RB - #21 , Trotwood-Madison

WR - #84, Bowling Green

OL - Schulte, CovCath

P - Jett, Dixie

DL - MISTER Cobble, L'Ville Central

LB - Guy, LexCath

DB - Ricky Rhodes, Madison Central

(I'll try to research and come up with the names of the numbered players)

For WR I'll add Detmer (Dixie). You nailed the rest and I will try to think of a few more.

In referring to Richmond Madison, I am assuming you mean Madison Central. QB Chaz Hope was #15, and DB/RB Ricky Rhodes was #5.

Thanks for recognizing these kids, they were 2 solid seniors.

Hi-Ho...Lone Ranger...thanks for your assistance! (who was that masked man?) Too many Richmonds/Centrals/Madisons on the schedule for this old brain to keep straight...but they all had some play-ahs!!

I liked Letcher County's qb, Banks, the best no disrespect to the kid you mentioned DMZ or any of the other qbs we played. And after him, I'd have to go with BG's Steelman. The reason I went with Banks is he showed such a good arm, continued to stay in the pocket inspite of getting drilled over and over again, the fact he ran the ball well even with a hammy problem and the fact he's a junior. He's going to be a real stud next year. If he keeps growing like some believe he will, he's a D1 prospect.

And Mister Cobble of Central is hands down the best D lineman we faced this year. And to think he's a junior too! Actually, from what I've read, Central has 3 likely D1 players returning next year. Central should again be a hand full to deal with.

I would like to nominate the entire Louisville Central D-line to the HHS All-Opponent Team. The only D-line that man-handled the HHS Offense for 3 1/3rd quarters this year. That alone was one heck of an accomplishment considering this was the best HHS team ever... :sssh:

Trotwood had some inside and outside LBs that simply liked to inflict pain...ala Drew Simmons style! The Trotwood game was so long ago that I forget the names and numbers of the standouts...

Individual Kudos:

#84 Wallace of BG at TE position. What a horse!

#14 Nick Vicini of Lex Cath at Outside LB was very tough!

#1 D.L. Moore of BG had the weaponry to inflict heavy damage to our secondary - however Austin, Drew, Oliver and Jimmy maintained the battlefield in the secondary.

#34 of BG was one of the hardest hitting LBs that the Birds faced all year.

#24 Adam Schmitz of Ryle at the LB laid some good licks on the HHS RBs. Fashioned the best eye shadow of any player the BIRDS played against.

Lex Cath secondary played strong against the BIRDS as a unit.

Sorry DMZ76 but I am adding toughest coach to the All-Opponenet Team:

Toughest Opponent Coach: Louisville Central. Ty Scroggins. Came out with a great game plan, made necessary adjustments. Just ran out of gas at the end of the 3rd QTR. Great job by a first year coach!

Thanks for the recognition Silver Streaker, as it means something to these kids coming from a Highlands fan because the majority of you definitely know football (and cakes, too, and possibly you know something about Hudepohl and Weideman). Other than Winston Guy and Nic Vicini on defense, the Lex Cath defenders were similar to the 'no-name-defense' of the old Miami Dolphins. Just a bunch of guys who would go after it play after play, game after game (except for the last 15 minutes against Highlands once Coach Mueller found an area to exploit for that moment, and also against Deuce Finch in the St. X game!)

#9 for BG in the State Championship game was one of the hardest hitters, and best open field tacklers I seen all year!

I thought the QB for Bowling Green was a stud who has all the tools to be a great college QB. He took some shots too and has deceptive speed. Props to him for leading BG to three straight State finals. I hope to hear he goes on and plays in college.

What About Some O Linemen i know highlands was undersized upfront someone had to do some damage.

Know Hudepohl but haven't met Weideman.:D

#43 LB for Louisville Central. Maybe his number was 45. He was very tough. He appeared to single-handedly stop up the middle of the line during the first 3 quarters of the game.

Sam Plomin and Andy Mahoney from Lexington Catholic.

What about WR - Gerad Parker from Lawrence County. I know HHS won by like 40 but the Birds could not contain him along with RB - Michael West. Your thoughts???
