It looks to me as if Brooks elbows Dennie on the rebound and that is what starts the altercation. Dennie then pulls Brooks to the floor and pushes her as she gets up. Brooks may have actually been the one who took the first real swing. From talking with someone who listened to WCYN Radio on Saturday it sounds as if Paris has been implicated as playing dirty basketball for quite some time and the refs just don't control the game. No one on the Harrison County sideline condones the fighting that's for sure. Dennie is a scrapper and hopefully the refs will not become whistle happy on her and restrict her participation.

 

So because Paris plays hard nosed smashed mouth in your face kinda defense they are playing dirty? Please. I don't see the teams beating Paris saying that.

That is quite an indictment on a coaching staff and the young ladies that represent the Paris program without stating any claims to back up your opinion.

 

As a coach of a different sport, the dirty tag infuriates me more than other. There are definitely players with short tempers and some may even be dirty, but you better have evdence when you try to label a teenage kid or team dirty.

 

I really hope this is just sour grapes from an upset fan at a close loss to a rival. Most kids play the game to have fun and not get called names. Blame the coaches, blame the refs, but please leave the kids out of your hate.

Sounds like this game was pretty rough. To have a fight and being in overtime and overall low scoring, must have been one to see.

I've only seen Paris play once; last year in Maysville vs. the Lady Royals. Their offense mostly consisted of chucking up 3s, then aggressively going to the boards in hopes of an easy follow.

 

On defense, they were tough and aggressive, but I wouldn't say dirty.
