He had done some good things with the Knights. Maybe some credit for their past success.

 

He did have some early success at Apollo as well and has them competitive.

The biggest questions ... Why Wyatt? And why move so quickly? Given Tilghman's situation, this job figured to attract some quality applicants. If the administration at Tilghman is truly wanting to hire the best coach for the job, why wouldn't they open up the search and see who expressed interest?

 

Wyatt was a track and football star at Tilghman and does a wonderful job with the track program. But he's been out of the football business for two or three years ... why is he the best choice for the program right now?

Oh well, Tilghman will continue to compete in the postseason in the very watered down 3A class with this 6 class system...I just don't see him advancing the program or even keeping it at same level as Coach Thomas.

I thing Wyatt will be good for Tilghman. He's well respected there, is a alum and I believe will relate to the players well. Not sure about his xs and os though. If he gets a good O and D coordinator in place, I think they'll be fine.. One thing I think you'll see is he'll bring alot of those track athletes with him that currently don't play, so, that could make them even faster than they usually are now. I think Haskins would have been a good choise too but I think they may have been looking for someone who'll be there for the long haul and not just 2 to 3 years and then retire. I don't think Jack has that many years left before he calls it quits...

I totally agree 100%. I wonder why Tilghman didn't take their time & post the job & get the best possible candidate for the job?

Wyatt's +'s are that should have more success at getting kids out than anyone else including the departed Thomas. -'s are the unknowns about his football coaching abilities

Said Tilghmans has over 80 kids on their track team...WOW...Said he will preach SPEED and more SPEED...

 

If someone knocks their block off they won't be able to run...but I guess Coach Wyatt's thinking is we have to catch them first!:lol:

I believe Coach Wyatt will make an excellent football coach. I am certain that Wyatt will get more kids out there and they will be in TOP shape come game time. He is also a great motivator and is highly respected at Paducah Tilghman HS.

I think the program will progress greatly. I think there will be more players coming out. Perry Thomas was too run happy. With all the speed tilghman has the offense must be opened up. I forsee a couple of titles the next few years.

What happened to posting a job 30 days- isn't that the law? Even if he was a shoe in -they could have done that to see what appliicants were available and some possible assistants
