He should not & did not get an invite for the fact that he did blow his knee out. You are right, had he not blown his knee out, he might have won the thing & he for sure would have been there in place of Daniel.

When he was in the game, he played as well as or better than anyone in college football, so why is he penalized to the point of not getting an invite because he was injured, something he could not control? The point is, whether he can control it or not, he got injured. Players who are injured & do not play the last couple games of the season do not get an invite. Simple as that. :confused:

Just because they do not doesn't mean they should not...

Dont count out Brennan, Hawaii Dosent get much attention but with those kind of numbers he definetly deserves to be there. Tebow will probably win only reason i see not is he is an Underclassman, You never know any more. Just dosen't seem as special as an award as it use to back in the day. Now it is about Numbers and Polotics. Doesnt always goes to the Best College Football player anymore. Just who has the best Numbers. And i dont think JUST good numbers mean you are the best player. It helps but not the only criteria JMO.

 

If Brennan deserves to be there becasue of his numbers, then why doesn't Graham Herrell.

Considering Herrell actually played Oklahoma, Texas, Missouri, etc. I would take him over Brennan, if you just want to look at numbers.

 

Another factor that I feel should go against Brennan is the success that his backup Tyler Graunke. He started two games when Brennan was injured. Brennan had 472 pass attempts comparred to only 118 for Graunke, however, if you project Graunke's numbers out to 472 pass attempts his stats would be as follows:

 

Comp % Yards TD INT Sacked

Graunke 65.3 4368 36 20 20

 

Not much of a drop off at all. I doubt Urban Meyer has anyone on his bench that could even come close to duplicating the preformance of Tebow.

 

Personally I think Tebow should win the award this season, however, I could live with McFadden.

He is 100% a system guy, he will not work out as a great pro, therefore I have a tendency to vote for the guy who is the focus of every defense, and still thrashed the best conference in America.
