You'll earn a lot more respect by sticking it out and taking your lumps. It's all about getting your hands dirty against the best possible competition.

It's kind of like lining up two runners and forcing one to do hurdles while the other gets a straight sprint. Conference championship games have nothing to do with it, IMO. OSU has no obstacles anywhere.

Every coach in America makes his or her own non-conference schedule. They all had equal opportunity to do what OSU did. Don't compliment OSU like that, they aren't that smart in Columbus........

Again what bothers me is the hate towards OSU. I am a fan of college football. I have several teams I like and when people start passionately hating other schools, thats when they need to take a step back. It's a game. One that we have no control over.

Yes, but some of them, like Auburn a few years ago, get punished for soft-scheduling. OSU got lucky that no one else was good enough to make them pay for their scheduling sins.

I hope some coach from another conference begs like the Georgia coach is right now but sort of like the Gators coach did last season. I doubt this happens because most coaches have more class than that.

I think hate is an overused word. I think dislike is more like it. Take it as a compliment. If OSU wasn't so good year in and year out nobody would care.

Then you're severely overestimating the hate. Ohio St. is in the cellar of teams I like, but you won't find me losing a bit of sleep over it. Some of us are entertained with arguments, especially considering the other options tonight. Trust me, my blood pressure isn't going up. :lol:

Someone had the bright idea to recall the OSU/Mich thread from last year. Funny you should mention that.

 

Last year OSU was the team that everyone in America was touting as a slam dunk National Champ. Some team from Florida backed into the title game and changed those plans.

 

Now whomever is slated to play OSU will be the slam dunk national champ here on BGP. OSU is just "lucky to be there", and there are hundreds of more qualified teams. Yes, yes, I seem to remember this all before from somewhere, it's all coming back now.
