Miller-Hopson match up tonight !

Featured Replies

Well when they destroy two regional powers in their scrimmages (Rose Hill in top 3 and UHA #1 in most preseason polls) and their D1 player outscores the other D1 player 41-17....it just seems like they are on a mission after last season's disappointment.

I would "GUESS" that Mason's other D1 player(Trevor Setty) out scored Hopson!! You never hear much about Setty, but he is a workhorse+ good shooter!! Mason has a very nice team.

I heard that Setty threw down a 2 handed dunk out of a half court set that was pretty sweet. When you have a UK signee and the great player that Miller is, a lot of other talent on the team flies under the radar....much like Setty.

Not necessarily. When you have a talent like Miller, the media follows as does college coaches and Setty gets more looks than 95% of the rest of the state.

He is very good too. Who is showing interested in him? I also hear his brother has the potential to be a good one as well. Royal Land is overflowing with talent.

Christian County beat UHA (this very same team) on UHA's last game the past season by 35 points. UHA is NOT a very good team. No one who was there tonight really made a comment about how good Mason County was except that Miller had 41 points and had a couple of back-to-back dunks that were pretty good.

Wish I could have made the trip. Can anyone that was at the game give any details... points by players, highlights?

Seems like the Royals are on a different planet from everyone else in the state right now.......

Dang how many of the other top teams have you seen scrimmage? Its way too early to say something like that.

So does Mason County stink because they only beat UHA by 19 points, or are they on a different planet...

My guess is somewhere in between.

Glad to hear that they took care of business. Maybe Darius was making a pre-season "Mr. Basketball statement".

Now on to what may be Mason County's most challenging regular season ever!

A lot of research just to try a dis-count how good Mason Co. may be.

I believe Miller pretty much has it locked up to be honest. As long as he stays healthy and plays decent he would win the award. He is a great player!

One scrimmage game against a team that had a losing record from a region that was less than average does not make a team on a whole new universe level. Is Mason County one of the top teams in the state, yes absolutely.

I've seen Mason twice, I can't believe that you think they are anything but the best in the state. If not, I'd like to see just who you'd insert as tops in the state. Maybe I can guess.

Speaking of a challenging season, it begins this weekend when the Royals take on Bryan Station. I heard Bryan Station whalloped Lex. Catholic by 20 some points in a scrimmage this week. The BS/MC opener has to be one of the most outstanding openers in years. Should be a great game for both teams who are loaded with overall team talent and each has one outstanding player. My best guess is the Royals will squeak out a win by fewer that five points but could just as easily by the Station by five.

Never said they weren't best in the state. In my opinion they are now tops. Lexington Cath was bumped by Bryan Station yesterday and Mason County showed they are force behind Miller newly asserted aggressiveness.

Mason Co. plays Bryan Station and Tates Creek on consecutive nights .:scared:

Very interesting weekend to start the season.
