McFadden is the best player but Tebow wins the Heisman. McFadden has nothing to complain about a lot of $$$$$$ are in his future.

If we see an OSU vs WVU national championship game Tosu would get smacked. Athletic QB, awesome run game; that kills Tosu (see Florida last year and Juice Williams for Illinios).

Fact is that LSU could not take care of business AT HOME against an unranked opponent.

 

Fact is that LSU has not looked anywhere near like an undisputed #1 team for the past several weeks. Not even close. Their defense is just not that good.

 

Fact is that if LSU could simply make a 2-point conversion or stop someone else from doing so, we wouldn't be having this discussion.

 

It is kind of funny to see the SEC apologists (and I like watching SEC football myself) blaming everyone from Ohio State (whose BGP fans are having a field day right now after being told a couple of weeks ago that their team's national championship chances were gone) to the grueling SEC schedule (and it is tough, but it could be argued that the Big 12, Pac 10, etc. teams have about as tough a road to hoe) for LSU's ineptitude in the clutch. Spin it all you want, but Arkansas scored 7 against Auburn and 13 against Tennessee in recent weeks. That's 20 points in 120 minutes of football. They scored 22 yesterday in how many plays of OT?

 

Fact is that LSU will not be playing (in all probability) for the NC because they can't stop anyone on defense. In the last 7 games (LSU did play their best football during the first month of the season) they gave up 24 to Florida (no shame there), 43 to UK in triple OT (a championship team makes ONE stop in OT), 24 to Auburn, 34 to Alabama (who scored only 14 and lost to WHO last week?), 10 to La Tech, 24 to Ole Miss, and finally 50 to Arkansas in 3OT. NOT the hallmark of a championship team.

 

Was this an entertaining game to watch? Sure was. Should a 2-loss team be playing for the NC? Probably not; at least as long as there are plenty of 1-loss teams in the mix (I'm not at all sure that Kansas can get through that grueling Big 12 schedule unscathed).

 

Where will LSU land in the BCS rankings after this weekend is over? I'm thinking somewhere around #4; so they will still be in the hunt - some comfort for those of you who believe that it is the SEC's God-given right to have a team playing in the NC game.:thumb:

They had a 21-0 lead and didn't score another TD all game and lost at home 30-27. Also how about the 34-13 loss in the SEC championship game to #13 Georgia. They did run over Miamia in the Peach bowl, 40-3. LSU has been a "good" team all year long. A pretty solid D but IMO a average at best offense.

Tough loss for LSU. On a side note, if OSU plays in the National Championship and its not against an SEC school, Ill never watch college football again.

Thanks LSU for completely failing. This last half of the season has been miserable. "You can't spell Les Miles without two Ls." Who said it, 5wide? Nice call on that one. Thanks again LSU for solidifying what will be a NC game I will surely not watch. And if Ohio St. gets in it, I may never watch college football again.

Where are you coming up with this? You guys love putting yourselves at the focal center of every possible college football related conversation. Read the posts, LSU got beat, most people are disappointed, most people don't want to see a national title game comprised of lesser quality teams. Considering there is no playoff option to settle all disputes, and there never will be, I'm going to complain when someone like Ohio St. or Kansas sneaks into the NC game after playing a powder puff schedule. I personally don't like Ohio St. (and if you read more than ten posts from Ohio St. fans you can probably guess why) but I could care less whether we are talking about them, Kansas, Hawaii, or any other overrated team. It's not all about you Ohio St.!

:lol: I am coming up with that by reading practically every thread on Ohio State Football this season.

Go back and read them and I believe that it won't be long before you see it. (if you want to see it) as for any other comments - I will refer them as well as this one to my post #35 above on this thread. "Should others have won games that they were supposed to win then OSU would not be in the picture."

I know one thing, should there be two teams other than Ohio State in the NC I will post my congrats to them and I will watch the game.

That imo is what any true college football fan would do.

Last years NC game was a complete embarassment for the Buckeyes. I really did think that OSU was playing over their heads most of last season. I still think this years team is much better, but just like the SEC, Big Ten teams tend to beat each other up as well. I don't think the

Big Ten is as good as the SEC the past couple of years, yet I don't think the Big Ten is as "weak" as some on here would like to think. The last time I looked the Big Ten has 10 of 11 teams bowl elegible. Not too bad for any conference.

 

Anyway, as a good Buckeye I will sit and wait to see how the rest of this thing plays out and worst case scenario, we get a trip to Pasedena. OSU vs. USC. Would be a great game that scares me to death. USC is playing some great football right now.
