He should stick to his guns, anyone thinking that a 1 and done year would finish a coaches contract because of a sub-par year is not thinking $$$$. If Louisville fan base is as good as advertised then the seats will not empty because of a couple of losses. UofL having second guesses over a coach, sounds like the UK carousel every other year.

I concur.....5-6 is un-acceptable, and he knows it first hand.....the future will bright, there will be an overhaul with some kids leaving, and others seeing major clock...coaching changes etcetera.....I am excited for the next 12 months of Louisville football.

Seriously, there was no way he could tuck tail and run to SMU, after one year. If you have any ounce of testicular fortitude, you have to battle and try to get it right.

 

Sure the Cardinals are the most disappointing team in college football this year, but it is not a pressure packed job.

They have also put up a lot of points a bunch of times, against better teams than USF...U of L had a complete meltdown last Saturday....while I hate when it does, it happens. Oh blah dee at this point. Anyway, U of L will be much, much improved next season, IMO.

I really do look at it differently. If Petrino were to have stayed Louisville would be in a completely different place right now, that I think, we all agree on. BUT, I think this year's disappointment, shows more proof at how good Bobby was, more than Kragthorpe's shortages.

Take Paul out, and that staff was amazing....especially Kevin Wolthausen......they have to find the best replacements (actually "co" again for DC) for the coordinator position. I like Jeff, but I don't kow if he should have the OC just yet.

I say give him another year for three reasons:

 

1. Considering expectations, next year couldn't possibly turn out worse than this year.

 

2. One year isn't enough time to really see how a coach is.

 

and 3. He seems to want to prove himself. That's definitely a quality I'd want in my coach.

Kind of telling. Maybe some reason why some players didn't/don't have the "motor" to be at UofL.

Not to dis-credit what you say, but I have heard from Brock that he is quite the disciplinarian....and they met late many, many times....the weightroom? Not sure, but since he's not the strength coach (of which I believe something needs to change), I am not worried about that.

I was told this right after their 4th game of the season....

^ Well things were indeed bad after game 4. However, with the exception of the USF game, this team has unified itself, staff and all, and has improved drastically. I look for the same to continue on into the future.
