Without question, I know no shame.

If your going to be buying an amp too, its going to be tough to find anything of quality with that price range. I suggest you spend the majority of it on a good amp you'll use for a while and buy a cheaper guitar. I've got a lower end Epiphone Les Paul and I've added in some decent pickups and it sounds great. A good amp can make any guitar sound great and a bad amp can make any guitar sound awful.

Here's my guitar:

That looks like a Dean; but I think it's more of a "Jerry."

All excellent advise so far.

If you're a fan of the SG look, the Epiphone 1966 G-400 Reissue is a nice choice in your price range.

The SG is my all time Favorite...It has Devil horns...

The 200-300 is the price range for just the guitar. One of the two are going to be bought for christmas hopefully so I'm just taking out one at a time now. I don't know anything about amps. Could you fill me in on them please?

O man I wish. I like it in cherry sunburst, but you obviously can't go wrong.

I have a 20% off coupon for guitar center for friday, so I'm probably going to get a guitar there, and but everything else separate. I was looking at this pack. http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Epiphone-All-Access-Amp-Pack?sku=480268X Good deal? or no good deal?

How much do you play? If you're really trying to get into playing, I would have to recommend a better amp. Habib had very good advice on that earlier.

You totally stole my idea and traveled back in time to post it before I could!
