November 21, 200718 yr I'm not looking for something too expensive (around 200 or 300), but I want something I can use to rock out some classic rock tunes. I have an acoustic now, but that acoustic just doesn't do "Wonderful Tonight" or any SRV any justice. I want it to have a classic look with not too much stuff going on on the artwork of the guitar. I appreciate any advice.
November 21, 200718 yr My favorite will always be the Les Paul... If you can find one in that price range, it's the winner!

I bought my last guitar at http://www.musiciansfriend.com. They have a great selection and reaonable prices for instruments and gear.
November 21, 200718 yr If you're looking for a good price, quality tunes and a classic look I would highly recommend an Epiphone Les Paul. There is a variance in their selection of about $200 but you can't go wrong with any of them.

November 21, 200718 yr Author Do you have an amp? No. I have an acoustic guitar and picks. I'd be starting from scratch in terms of electric gear.
November 21, 200718 yr All excellent advise so far. If you're a fan of the SG look, the Epiphone 1966 G-400 Reissue is a nice choice in your price range.
November 21, 200718 yr If you like a look with a bit more "edge" to it, you might like the Schecter 006.
November 21, 200718 yr If you need an amp as well that's definitely going to bump up your price but here's what I would recommend. There are a few other choices for less money but this is worth the little extra: http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Epiphone-Les-Paul-Standard-and-Amp-Pack?sku=513157
