November 16, 200718 yr Speaking of Depressed, apparently google runs ads on my browser (I think it is because I used Firefox), right above the words " BluegrassPreps.com > Politics and Religion" the ads said "I love Hilary Clinton" and "Hilary Clinton T-Shirts"
November 16, 200718 yr Speaking of Depressed, apparently google runs ads on my browser (I think it is because I used Firefox), right above the words " BluegrassPreps.com > Politics and Religion" the ads said "I love Hilary Clinton" and "Hilary Clinton T-Shirts" It's not because of Firefox. All BGP forum pages have google ads.
November 16, 200718 yr I like when the narrator (or whatever they're called) says, "A short yes or no answer?" I think there may have been one person on the stage that did that. None of the serious contenders can give a straight answer. These debates are an absolute joke...they're more like a sporting event. There is more clapping and cheering than talking. It's about which candidate can come up with the best one liners to get the crowd to cheer, and which one can talk the best without messing up. Rarely, IMO, do they ever say anything of substance...they generally just criticize the current setup and point out shortcoming and say they're going to change that or they want to change that or it won't happen on their watch. But, when the questions attempt to pin them down to an actual solution/answer to anything, they completely talk their way out of it and change the whole issue. That's what they should title the debates..."A Contest to see who can change the whole issue/question in 30 words or less" Why can't these moderators (there's the word) make these guys and gals answer the questions? Period. If I say yes or no, then answer yes or no. And please, can we refrain from clapping every 15 seconds...this isn't Comedy Off Broadway. It's a presidential debate. I want some substance....Geez. I expect the Republican debates to be similar, although I'm anxious to see these guys get going. So, this isn't a shot at democrats in any way...it's a shot at how our presidential debates have become a complete circus...they're about everything but the issues. The candidates aren't even really judged on what they say, but how they say it. How ridiculous is that. It's a complete joke...politics and media have completely threw this country under the bus...then backed up and ran over it again.
November 17, 200718 yr Well, that’s the media for you. The 24 hour news cycle is the worst thing to happen to us, imo.
November 17, 200718 yr I to feel a little down after listening to the news , is it really that bad? I don't think so.
November 17, 200718 yr Thing is, I didn't realize I was doing so bad until last night when they told me how bad and miserable of a life I had. Your problem is, you're not paying enough taxes. You're xenophobic, and too concerned about actually enforcing our borders. You believe in God and the Bible, which indicates you're not in touch with reality. The fact that you actually believe in right and wrong obviously causes all kinds of problems. You say you're about freedom, but you actually think that women shouldn't be free to "choose" to abort their babies whenever they want for any reason they "choose." And what's up with your belief that we should actually "win" the war on terror? I could go on, but what you need is a good dose of socialism to set you free. Never mind the fact that it has failed miserably everywhere and everytime it has been tried. The problem is, the right people weren't in charge and running the show. The smartest woman in the world will lead you to socialistic bliss. j/k obviously... I'm with you Bro... :thumb:

November 17, 200718 yr Author How do you feel when you drive up to the "Gas Pump". Thats when it hits me. Not too bad. I live in a small community and don't travel 45 minutes each way to work. About 10 minutes in the morning and 10 minutes in the evening. Once a week to the big city, so most weeks I get by on one tank of gas. So about $40 per week does it.
November 17, 200718 yr After hearing this morning that Hillary wants both pearls and diamonds I feel much better today !! ! !
November 17, 200718 yr See if this makes you feel any more depressed. Reports say the Iraq War will cost... $1,600,000,000,000 or 1.6 TRILLION by the year 2009!!!! Anyone know what the GDP (gross domestic product) of the U.S. is? I would be that it isn't 1.6 trillion!!
November 17, 200718 yr Anyone know what the GDP (gross domestic product) of the U.S. is? I would be that it isn't 1.6 trillion!! You're right! In 2006 it was $13.25 Trillion. That's 27.5% of the Gross World Product of $48.14 Trillion. The U.S. was exceeded only by the combined GDP of the 27 member states of the European Union, which was $14.5 Trillion. Japan was third with $4.4 Trillion. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_GDP_(nominal) I wonder what the cost would be if we didn't attempt to combat terrorism... even imperfectly?

I have no problem with fighting terrorism. In fact, I wish we had done it instead of going to Iraq. Iraq was a waste of our young people and resources. It has made us less safe. In addition, we have elected to fight this war of choice and send the bill to our children and grandchildren. Our young people have fought bravely and done everything we have asked them to do. We should be ashamed for being so wasteful with their service.
