Lloyd Carr Will Retire After OSU Game

Featured Replies

No offense to Kelley but I don't think he's high profile enough for the UM folks. They view themselves as having one of the ELITE jobs in America. A UC coach would not please the UM fans.

It is one of the elite jobs. I see your point about Kelley but Tressell was not high profile either and he has done a great job at his school. ( That kills me to say that) I only mentioned Kelley because I heard it on a UM board. It is propably someone just mentioning a name with no factual evidence.

First, it's Kelly.

Tressell had deep OSU roots. He was an in house hire that was maybe a gamble. But he was an OSU guy, no doubt about it...

Maybe this is for another thread, but if Les Miles is the choice, any chance the the Falcons and Petrino agree to part ways?
If Petrino would have gone to LSU, it would only have been as a stepping stone to the NFL. The pro game is where he wants to be.

Wanted to be for all we know now... ;)

You are absolutely correct, he actually coached under then head coach Earl Bruce. Also, he stayed close to the program when he was at YSU. Not sure if his father had ties to OSU though....

I'm pretty sure Tressell's dad did have ties to OSU. He may have been a coach as well.

I knew he was at Baldwin Wallace and had some HS experience, but wasn't sure of the OSU thing......Thanks!

You clearly know very little about Kelly's defensive philosophy. I see zero chance of Kelly at UM. It will be a Michigan man. Count on that...

:thumb: I don't think that there is anyway that any other but a Michigan man will be the next UM coach.

I am sure all Michigan fans will rejoice, if this proves to be accurate.
