The only reason we have hatred towards tOSU is because everyone is tired of a team being ranked #1 for so long that CLEARLY isn't the best team in the nation and had a good shot at staying there because of a slow and washed up conference. November 11, 200718 yr The Illinois offense was ranked low on the totem pole in both rushing & passing but played like the best team in the country today. Zook had a great game plan and the Illinois offensive line owned the OSU front four all day. The bottom line is that OSU got out played today in all phases of the game. Illinois appears to be no cupcake at 8-3, but, as you stated, they sure did look like a great team today... spread offense in the big ten... what's up with that? Not to be a smart "butt"; however, the SEC style Illinois seems to have learned something... as in how to beat the big ten powers (at least for today).
November 11, 200718 yr A couple of thoughts from a saddend Buckeye. Congrats to Illinois. They flat outplayed tOSU today. Evidently the defensive coaches at Ohio State do not know how to defend a spread offense. The Bucks last two losses have come against the spread. Oregon would probably have a field day against the Bucks if they don't change the way they defend the spread. If I am Meat-Chicken, I add some spread offense to the gameplan. The Leman kid from Ill. is amazing. It is going to make it very interesting as to who makes it to the NC game. Bucks need to regroup and beat Meat-Chicken and earn a trip to the Rose Bowl. Could we se an SEC team in Pasadena if they don't have one in NC game? Very well could happen, now that Oregon is in NC hunt. It's Meat-Chicken Week and in the grand scheme of things, Beating Blue is what its all really about anyway. Go BUCKS! Screw the Blue. OH-IO
November 11, 200718 yr Great game plan by Zook and a nice effort by Illinois. Illinois whipped OSU at the line of scrimmage and the Juice ran the ball control offense almost to perfection. OSU defense had no answer for the ILL running game. That was as close to a perfect game as you will ever see one team play. ILL had what 1 penalty and no turnovers and had Boeckman off his game all afternoon.

ILL ran it to perfection. I am really surprised more coaches in the Big Ten don't look at that offense. Personally I love it. Several MAC teams run it and do so very well.
