What was the biggest upset in the first round?

Featured Replies

Scott County.

Dunbar and Lafayette played in a very close game the first go around.

So did Montgomery and Woodford.

I would have to say #4 seed Montgomery County over #1 seed Woodford at Woodford. I don't think anyone picked MC to win.

Dunbar over Lafayette, IMO!

That was a big upset but my vote is for Shelby Co. over Scott Co.

Heath over Caldwell isn't a big upset ... the Pirates led 13-0 in their first meeting before their best player, RB Chad Wright, went down with an injury. Wright ran for over 270 yards in the rematch.

Neither is Shelby over Scott, now that Shelby has their great QB back. I don't see Bellevue-Dayton as that big of one, either.

My vote goes to Dunbar-Lafayette ...

Shelby County d. Scott County (Who I though would make it to the semis)

My stomach. My stomach was the biggest upset of the first round, did you see most of the scores.:p

Second biggest upset of the week was in Scott Co.

Not those close to the Eagle program, but most everyone had North Bullitt buried and dead and had Bullitt East as a 2-3 TD favorite with the way they had been playing. Most would have laughed at North's chances of winning by 4 TD's at East.

agreed

No doubt. After Woodford beat Johnson Central many people felt they would go deep into the playoffs.

Without a doubt for KHSAA , their 2006 2a Champ ( who should have been 5a last year) getting soundly beat in first round must be upsetting ....Please install a 2006 asterick or send title where it belongs ...

:sleep::sleep: Someone wake me up when people have moved on about this tired topic from last year.

Wouldn't it have been hard to be 5A last year, when we only had 4 classes?

Montgomery is for real. But this was an upset. Gooch is not a self promoter. He is a team guy.

For what he has done at Montgomery is a short time, he should be given strong consideration for Coach of the Year.

There is no such thing as an upset in the Bellevue Dayton rivalary. No matter how much unevenly matched the teams are, these game are usually always kept close!

Are you ever serious? Dayton should have won this game!
