His performance against the Badgers was one of the best I have ever watched. 19 tackles and a fumble recovery was impressive. I see better players than him. Part of his success is his placement in the system and obviously he is pretty good, but certainly overrated IMO.

November 7, 200718 yr I hate OSU, but Laurinaitis is one tough player, and is one of the best in the country. NO a defensive player won't when it anytime in the near future. College football is now more than ever an offensive game. Teams switch to the spread offense, and try to put up 600 yards and 40 points a game. Now an off game for elite RB's is if they only get 100 yards, for QB's 250 with 2 touchdowns isn't even that impressive. It will be QB or RB almost every year, unless some freak reciever is just amazing, and no runningbacks or quarterbacks stand out. The only chance for a defensive player would be a db, who returns kicks and punts, and doubles over on offense and is a playmaker there. Pretty much a Charles Woodson clone. Oh, and they'd have to play on the top team in the country. So I don't see it happening anytime in the near future.
November 7, 200718 yr Is Woodson the only defensive player to ever win it? Was Woodson consider a defensive player or special teams player and he played offense too. IMO if not for the punt return against OSU in the final game he doesn't win it.
