Best Kickers This Season

This guy is not JUST a kicker, he's a football player. How many of those other Kicking leaders are able to say that?/QUOTE]

I think that many of these outstanding kickers would take offense to your comment. Kickers who aspire to go to D-1 schools, continue their education, play at the next level and possible one more level after that....cannot do anything but concentrate on kicking. College coaches will not allow their kickers to play other positions! Kentucky football is finally growing up and kicking is becoming a bigger part of the h.s. game than....oh, who can kick an extra point? Recently saw a game where the coaches were trying to teach a kid to kick an extra point in the TENTH game of the season! Special teams players ARE football players and deserve respect. Some of these kickers started attending kicking camps throughout the whole summer in order to benefit their team. They practice hard and many times with no help from the coaches....and must discipline themselves to do drills, etc. They earn the right to step on the field on any Friday night......as a PLAYER!

Here's our boy Zlaton:

Z Petrovic - 7-7 - 52-57 - 73

Mitchell Jet - Dixie - 39 XP 10 FG

The kid could EASILY start at WR, TB, or DB and he can fly. Has made multiple tackles in the kicking game. The kid likes to hit so I'm sure that is why he doesn't see much time on O or D. Unfortunately for him, he is too valuable. I would hazard a guess and say that he has put up similar stats the last two years as well. He has to be one of the leading scorers in school history.

Tommy is a great kid and certainly this is true, but that was the spirit of the early thread....Best Kickers in the State

Are you saying Tommy is not one of the best kickers in the state? If so you haven't seen him kick.

You certainly misunderstood what I was saying. I was trying to pay a compliment to Tommy. I have seen him kick! What I was saying that in the earlier thread that many of us posted on in first part of the season....I believe that it was called "Best Kickers in the state"...all we did was discuss potential for the season. I was just trying to see where all of these kickers discussed ended up. I was trying to create a spot where teams could brag on their kicker and we could compile some stats to see how they all did at end of regular season. The stats from that one site for those three kickers.....well, most of us do not have anything like that. Unless the kicker is posted on Riherds.com....under point total...then they do not show up anywhere!

28 extra points this year…………….no misses, 2 blocked…

.

5 field goals 43 yds, 28 yds, 28 yds, 29 yds, 37 yds -

2 misses from over 50 yds

Needs 3 more extra points to pass Ryan Ivy’s record of 163 career

His touchback % is around 93.

This is exactly what I was looking for on every kicker available. Thank you! Great year for Tommy, and best wishes in the playoffs!

Jason Nicholson from Dunbar is averaging right at 45 yards per punt. He also kicks 85% of KO's out of the endzone. Dunbar will miss him next year.

Danville has two Jordon Gay and Chris Oester

This is exactly what I was looking for on every kicker available. Thank you! Great year for Tommy, and best wishes in the playoffs!

I called his mom!

As previously mentioned, Hazard does have a great kicker. His name is Austin Delpont and he is only a sophmore. We are fortunate to have an alumni who played in the 60's and then went on to play at Virginia Tech on football scholarship. He has been an excellent mentor for Austin and continues to work with him on a regular basis. Austin has been instrumental in winning several games, such as the Pikeville playoff game last year in which he kicked the game winning field goal with only seconds left on the clock:thumb:. This year, he has only matured and is kicking many balls well into the endzone, preventing teams from potential runbacks. We feel fortunate to have him and look forward to two more years of great kicks from him.:ylsuper:

Go dawgs!:banana::banana:

Well...in head to head competition this year Drew...pardon the pun...KICKED their tails!! If Dale would give Drew the chance for FG's that other teams give their kicker (Dale thinks his offense can make every 4th and 5...and he's probably right!) Drew would be far and away the leader in points (whatever that stat is worth). Jett is a fine double threat kicker (he's a much better punter!) and Kaufman only got the one kickoff against us. (jury still out, I guess). Drew has been kicking, playing D-back, and some WR. If he could/would focus just on kicking he would be even BETTER!! It's scary!!:scared:

Sorry, but Kaufman had 3 TBs and one pop-up kick to the 9 against the Birds. In addition, he had an outstanding punting game which included a 66yd punt. I guess I don't see where his tail was being kicked. Jared could also play a number of other positions with his speed and hands, and he can hit with the best of them, but who would then kick if he got hurt? He would have more FGs if the opportunity was given him--have you ever seen him at halftime? Both did attend the Ray Guy Prokicker camp last summer. Kaufman is ranked 2nd in Ky--where is Bathiany?

From the Ray Guy Kicking web site.....

I only got to see him twice (once on film) but Corbis has a pretty solid kicker.

DMZ76---Obviously, you are familiar with the prokicker.com website where all of this info is accessible. Once there, you will also see that Kaufman is ranked 2nd in the state of Ky, 18th in a 14 state region and 36th nationally (higher if KOs where flying then as they are now). He hit 100% of his FGs --only about 6 kids out of all of the camps accomplished that. In addition, he did attend other camps around the area where he hit 100% as well. For the entire pre-season and regular FB season Kaufman has gone 12/15 on FGs, the longest being 47yds. I know Drew was ranked in the state at one time; where did he end up? Kaufman, Bathiany, and Jett are all extremely respectable kickers in the NKy area and I am sure there are others that we are not aware of. Good Luck with your post season play.
