Does anyone know if such a statistical website exists for the Louisville or Cincinnati area?

Points aren't necessarily the best indicator of a good kicker. Putting the ball into the endzone is SUCH a weapon that teams with kickers who do this consistently have a great advantage in field position. Percentage of FGM to FGA is a better indicator...and even then, the length of the attempt can skew this stat. All things considered...Drew Bathiany...or "Beth-a knee" as he's often called...is one of the state's BEST and HHS is glad he's a Bird!!

Regardless of stats, Bathiany is a phenominal kicker who also starts in the defensive backfield and has amazing hands. I believe that his kick offs also help to eliminate the threat of many returners of other teams. Even if you could bring it out, some of his kicks go out of the back of the end zone. I agree that they should consider moving the kick off back 5 yards. This guy is not JUST a kicker, he's a football player. How many of those other Kicking leaders are able to say that? I believe that he is the best kicker that I have seen at Highlands-especially on kickoffs.

Well...in head to head competition this year Drew...pardon the pun...KICKED their tails!! If Dale would give Drew the chance for FG's that other teams give their kicker (Dale thinks his offense can make every 4th and 5...and he's probably right!) Drew would be far and away the leader in points (whatever that stat is worth). Jett is a fine double threat kicker (he's a much better punter!) and Kaufman only got the one kickoff against us. (jury still out, I guess). Drew has been kicking, playing D-back, and some WR. If he could/would focus just on kicking he would be even BETTER!! It's scary!!:scared:

I think the fact that he plays Defense/WR helps keep his leg warm and only helps his kicking. Wouldn't you rather run around a little on D instead of just standing on the sideline kicking balls into a little net?

Chance of injury??? BIG consideration with a weapon like Drew. Who's on deck if he can't kick? BIG dropoff in talent. Probably right about running around on D...less time for him to "think" about situations!!

Hazard has a great Kicker, not sure of his name or stats.....

Remember, younger kids get to move up now that their seasons are over. I believe that the Freshmen kicker (Weinel)made some pretty magnificent FG's this year. Someone correct me if I am wrong. I know that if I am you will.....Plus, who is going to tell Drew, a senior, that he can't play Defense.

He only takes 4 steps back on his kickoffs. I'd love for him to take 10 and get some more momentum into his kicks, but 4 works for him.

I agree with you on that about the extra steps. The only problem is....if you know anything about kickers, they are one of the most superstitious athletes ever. If they have a way that works, good luck getting them to try something different.

You are comfortable putting the kicking game (and a state title run) into the hands...er, leg..of a Freshman? He will be an excellent kicker...down the road. There ain't nobody on that frosh team ready for varsity PT. Drew is a team player and a great kid who would readily do anything requested of him by his coach. Now Papa Bear might be a different creature!!:lol:

Jake Stephens from Lafayette 22 career field goals including 7 consecutive and 3 in one game 48,47 and 31 yards.

Belfry sports one of the best "Straight-On" kickers I have seen on the high school level. Senior Glenn Earnest has been the picture of consistency. He has only missed two XP's, both on bad snaps. He has also kicked a school record 51 yard Field Goal and been consistently accurate in the 30-40 yard range. He has not only been able to garner a number of touchbacks on his kickoffs, his accuracy on pooch kicks and directional kicking has been vital in the kickoff unit. Not to mention he is a big ole boy (5'9 250+) that will flat out hit you on kick returns.

Tommy is a great kid and certainly this is true, but that was the spirit of the early thread....Best Kickers in the State.....but how did they do? Does anyone have his stats for FG's PAT's longest FG, etc for this year? It would be great to see how all the guys discussed earlier ended the regular season going into the playoffs.
