What #4 seed has the best chance to pull the first round upset?

 

I'll say Mercer has a heck of a chance against Lincoln in the first round.

Nelson County was playing very well when they beat Greenwood the first time. Greenwood had two starting running backs out in that game, and things kind of slid on them in the first half.

 

This game is at home for Greenwood. Nelson is not playing as well, particularly defensively, the last two weeks, the starters are back for Greenwood, and Nelson's best all-around player, D'Sean Patterson, is questionable with an ankle sprain. He ran for a buck fifty and 3 Td's in the first meeting. If Nelson wins, it will STILL be an upset.

In class 5A,four seed Mercer Co. could upset one seed Lincoln Co. if Lincoln don't being their A-game.

 

IMO, I really don't think the term "upset", regardless of seeding can really be used in 5A...unless, Highlands or BG was to get beat, then that would be an upset. I think the rest of 5A is very balanced, flip a coin on either game.

Well I know I'll be pretty 'upset' if we don't beat Lincoln Friday night. :lol: :lol: #4 seed or not, Mercer should make a run in the playoffs if they get focused and play to their potential. It certainly would be the right time of the year to peak!!:thumb:

Watch out for Whitley over Letcher. There seems to something in the air over the Blvd. of Champions. Plus they have a key starter comming back.

Well Owensboro plays Ohio Co. in the first round and the Devils won the regular season meeting 56-0 with the JV and Freshman playing most of the 2nd half with continuous running clock. So if Ohio Co. was to win this game I would call it a HUGE upset!

I would be absolutely shocked if this one were to happen

In the far west, there are two games that have a remote possibility of a 4 seed upending the 1 seed. They are Henderson County over Marshall County and Heath over Caldwell County. I don't think either will happen but I do think Henderson County has the best shot from the two aforementioned games.

Like you, I'd pick Caldwell over Heath, but you can't count the Pirates out. They moved the ball fairly well against a very good Lone Oak defense last week. Their running back Wright broke for two or three impressive runs after being hit for losses. They just ran out of steam by halftime. I don't see the Tigers containing Wright anymore that the Oakers did and if the game stays reasonably close, Heath could pull the upset.
