Now back to the real point Raceland should have some energy at home against an arch rival. I look for a diiferent energy from this group Friday night than last week's. Ram's will be ready IMO I look for another victory over Fairview.

What's the point in rooting against an area school? Yeah Raceland may hate Fairview but I still don't see them rooting against them in the playoffs.(with the exception of this year of course) but lets say by some chance Fairview beats Raceland, would you rather lose to a team that goes deep in the playoffs or a team that gets knocked out the next round after they beat you?

True they did win the game, but if and only if games were played in halfs the first half as tied so it all came down to the second half. Russell just outplayed Raceland in the second half.

The word I get out of Raceland is the Russell game has been hanging over the heads of the players for a while.

Hopefully the playoffs and a do or die situation will refocus the Rams this week.

The Rams getting beat by West had nothing to do with the Russell game. It had all to do with of fundmentals and a better prepared West team. West played harder and wanted it more than the Rams. The Rams did not tackle or play assignment football. No super bowl hang over, as you russell guys think. Now on with the Fairview/Raceland game. This will be a war. Big rival game and now add that the loser is done! Both teams had players out in first game, so that game is irrelevent. Both teams had established their identities by now and will be a toatlly new game. Should be a good one. Get your lawn chair out.

Absolutely correct :thumb:. There are several factors involed in Raceland's loss vs. West and the ones that you mentioned do not need to be repeated, you are 100% correct. Trust me, I don't want to dissapoint some people but the loss to Russell had NOTHING to do with a loss vs. West Carter.

Raceland was flat out beaten against Russell by a better football team on that night,(played Russell even in the 1st half and lost the game in the 2nd half) end of story and certainly no "super bowl":D. I believe that it was tagged the "Rail Cities Bowl" and hardly a comparison to the super bowl, both teams (Rusell and Raceland) are not bad but I don't think that either is ready for a Super Bowl .

And I am sure none of you have anything to do with that. I don't root against them (Russell), I root for them because I think their Staff, their AD, and their kids are all class. And even though it is difficult to do, I can't let some posters at BGP taint my view of the entire program no matter hard it seems like they try.

 

Back to Raceland/Fairview which is really what this thread is supposed to be about, I am confident that Raceland will be more than ready for this game. If not, they might be in for a long night. But these kids want another shot at going to LCA and proving they are better than they were several weeks ago. I believe in them and I believe they can get it done.
