I guilty for using the word/nonword ain't, kinda reminds me of a skit from

The 3 Stooges:

It is also commonly used as a dialectical contraction of is not, are not, has not, and have not. But "ain't" is still considered sub-standard English.

 

Yes BF I agree and I too think this is correct. Period.

All I know is that my aunt (a retired English teacher) would wash my mouth out for using 'ain't' as quickly as if I used an expletive..that's all I need to know!!

I still "ain't" figured out why some people have a problem with it, that just ain't right!! :sssh: :lol:

The preposition thing, I understand it, but everyone around here pays no attention to it.

Example: Who are you going with? What did you do that for?

I dont know why it ain't proper, but it ain't fair it should be.

Im guilty of using prolly way to much. As far as looking it up in a dictionary, might be best not to look up prolly in the urban dictionary just give you a heads up.

 

Also, why can't you end a sentence in a preposition?

 

Because a preposition is just something you can't end a sentence with.

Why even put the "at" in the sentence, your just repeating yourself...

That works just fine and sounds a lot better...Thats why you ain't supposed to put a preposition at the end of a sentence, but sometime you have to in order to make the sentence make sense.

And begining a sentence with an article is always nice....lol
