Danville is Danville. They've had NewCath's number until last year. It would be a major mistake to not think that they are co-favorites with NewCath followed closely by Corbin.

I think there was another thread about 2A. I thought that Newport Catholic and Danville would play for the title with Corbin having an outside shot.

The Dragons of Green County are for real. They are my pick to win it.

NCC has as good of a chance as anybody. But I do not think it will be a cake walk.

NewCath will have to win probably 2 close games to take the trophy but I say 2-time defending champs deserve to be considered the favorite at this time.

The rankings have NewCath as the #1 team in the state so they must be the favorite until they get beat. I think Danville will have a tough 2nd round game with Bardstown and Ft. Campbell will have to beat Owensboro Catholic again. Both of those games will be great games and those are only 2nd round games. Then the two winners must play each other in the 3rd round. What a tough bracket for District 2 and District 4. They always say, " TO BE THE BEST, YOU MUST BEAT THE BEST."

I would say Danville definitely could not beat NCC right now. The coaching staff will do a good job or preparing them for each playoff game, but they are definitely not a great team compared to past Danville teams. With the regular season ending loss, and a week off to think about it they should come out and play with something to prove in the early part of the playoffs. But who knows what goes on in the minds of 14-18 year old boys.

BTW...I have no doubt that NCC is strong........

on the sideline for highlands, boone, dixie, ryle, and campbell , new cath could be 9 -0 if is wasn't for last second great play by ryle corner back to save the game. they are big, strong, one of the best coached teams i've seen.

It is really nice to hear someone say something good about our coaching staff. Coach Schneider has done a great job getting assistants that know how to motivate. Some of those younger coaches have made a huge impact, the kids really seem to respond to their instruction. Now that's why we call him the MENTOR
