You obviously don't know much about Jon Weece or Southland Christian Church, either. It really is incredible what they do for the world as a whole. Thinking about writing letters to Britney isn't all this man thinks about. This is by no means a publicity stunt, Mr. Weece genuinely feels for Britney and wants to show her God's love.

 

And why not Britney? She is clearly going through the toughest time of her life and is constantly being harassed by millions for her antics. Sure, she can have millions of dollars of physical treatment, but is anyone attending to her spiritual treatment?

She will not even know she got the letters, LET alone read some of them. They need to take the postage and put it to a little better use. Idea is good But ...........

You obviously have no clue about Southland or Mr. Weece. They are constantly doing things for the "faceless" people out there. How did I know someone would be on this thread trying to call him out for trying to help someone that obviously needs it?

The cynicism on this thread is astounding. God loves Britney as much as He loves the welfare mother or AIDS stricken patient in Africa. A fine man says he feels called to reach out to her (noone, even the BTK killer, is beyond redemption), and the majority on here immediately suspect ulterior motive. Give me one piece of evidence of this man having a past record as publicity hound and we have room for discussion. Otherwise, I tend to look for the good in folks until they give evidence otherwise. God does not have a "priority repair" list.

Its absolutely a fair question especially in today's world of entertainment ministers. Many are looking for cash and publicity so you can understand why some of us are skeptical. While this minister may well known in certain circles, he's not well known to all of us. Thus, the question has to be asked.

Have you read his blog? You say you are not familiar with him. Do you always attempt to tear down those you dont know? I guess it is fair to automatically lump him in with the minority group that is in it for the "entertainment" aspect and money.

I can guarantee you one thing, Mr. Weece was not the one that brought this to Yahoo's attention. Sure he put it in on his blog, but do you think Yahoo! is out there reading pastor's blog's on a regular basis? The world could see it, but do you think the world will see anything else he writes. Props to him. My valid QUESTIONING of him falls fall short of "tearing him down." I can understand his followers/supporters on here being offended because I, too, can be sensitive to PERCEIVED criticism of people I admire/respect.

As I said previously, in today's world of "look at me" and "fill my pockets" entertainment ministers, anytime we hear about something involving a minister and Britney Spears, an alarm goes off if we don't know the minister. You seem to know and respect him. I have no clue who he is, thus, my alarm goes off and questions (note: not accusations) ensue.

I heard about this and I think it is fantastic. He actually said that the lord spoke to him (not sure if that is the exact words he used) and wanted him to pray for her. BS maybe rich and spoiled but she is one of God's people so he cares as much about her as the rest of us. Her 2 little kids also need her to turn her life around.

 

:thumb::thumb: Good Post here BF, I personally do not or will not ever have anything for her or anyone else in rock, hip hop music or hollyweird for that matter. I do however know that God cares about these people as should all of us. God hates the actions/sins but loves the person. I hope that she can turn her life around for the sake of herself and her kids.

Poor little thing just needs help of any kind, somejone to guide her instead of granting here every wish. So what good do you see coming from this ..... Will she seek the guidance she needs maybe ! ! :confused::confused:

Lets look at this ...this way..... When ever you write a letter how long does it take you. Maybe 15 minutes or so. The main point which I believe missed some of you that it helps the letter writer who is praying for someone. No matter who the letter is written to it is still the act of doing something for another human being. Ms. Spears needs to have a life changing moment and its our duty as Christians to encourage her with the Gospel.

 

Verses I'd use is Ezekiel 3:16, where God tells us to warn others if they don't choose to follow him...."if you do try to warn them and they still act in there evil ways, you will be Blessed by Me"...

 

 

I don't know this Preacher so I cannot make a comment. Also look at Matthew 7:1 where jesus talks about Judging others and one I use the most is 1st Samula 16"7 where this would appy for the preacher where the verse says...."Man looks at the outward appearance, the LORD looks at his heart."

 

If this is a stunt it might fool some folks but you cannot fool GOD.
