Wireman Posted October 27, 2007 Posted October 27, 2007 I was just looking and 11 of the 12 teams in the SEC could very well be bowl eligible. Would all 11 make it to bowl games or how does that work? Four teams are already bowl eligible and UGA is knocking on the door to make it five. What happens if all 11 win 6 games?
DragonFire Posted October 27, 2007 Posted October 27, 2007 I believe there are tie-ins for 8 teams. The other caveat is that getting 6 wins makes you eligible, whereas over 6 wins should just about guarantee you a bowl. I assume a couple of those teams will have exactly 6 wins while those above will get the bids.
Sportz Addict Posted October 27, 2007 Posted October 27, 2007 Seriously doubt any SEC team is in the SHIP.......

Ok with 8 tie-ins, I guess what I'm asking is can independent bowls send an invitation to teams that are not int he top 8? For example, could the Central Kentucky Kiwani's Bowl send an invitation to Miss. State if they finish 6-6 and are not included in the 8 tie ins?
KY Thorobred Posted October 27, 2007 Posted October 27, 2007 Seriously doubt any SEC team is in the SHIP....... LSU could be, but hopefully they lose next week! :thumb:
Sportz Addict Posted October 27, 2007 Posted October 27, 2007 LSU could be, but hopefully they lose next week! :thumb: There probably the last hope but I am no longer sold on them. A lot of SEC teams have pancaked lately. They have a lot of good ball clubs in the conference but nobody wants to lead the pack.
RockPride Posted October 27, 2007 Posted October 27, 2007 From watching the last few weeks GEORGIA is 100% about the team....and they all are bought in with the coach I would not want to play them right now....they are flat out scary right now.

Even Ole Miss can beat you in the SEC if you decide to take a week off.

See I don't get that... another team who won by a miracle against a bad team last week right? Its turning into who's "great" in the SEC this week... with teams flip flopping each week.

But I am no longer sold on the top.

They're all good so there isn't any team that stands out for the entire season. Its a fight for survival in the SEC and then in the BCS or national title game, the SEC team will mow the field with the other conference's champion (kind of like Florida did last season).:thumb:
