I have been to Rupp Arena twice in my life, and personally I wouldn't mind a BIT if they got a smaller arena. At the same time, though, I'm glad that the possibility is there for both teams to get new arenas. It only helps the state.

Last time I checked, Commonwealth didn't look like a bomb had gone off there before the expansion, unlike Old Cardinal Stadium did at the time PJCS was being built...Same can be said for Rupp. What's the need for a new arena? And didn't they just completely renovate the concession and common areas of Rupp about two or three years ago?

Older facility, can easily expand seating and still sell out, can easily change configuration of seats, updated locker rooms...etc. Um, yes... I have a buddy who worked their for UK and the Horseman and he's said it's been time for a while now...

We are talking 8 years or so away. Both could be HUGE assetts for playing in NCAA tournaments (i.e. UK playing in Louisville, UL playing in Lexington). Now the rest of the country can get mad at us like they do Duke and UNC for playing in their back yards every season :lol:
