St, UCONN, @Virginia) Thoughts/predictions?
October 10, 200718 yr Author The consensus likes Navy because Pitt has been so terrible. But, Pitt is at home, desparate for a win, and in theory - they should have more talent than Navy.

St, UCONN, @Virginia) Thoughts/predictions? Just my opinion. I would say Navy by at least 7. Rutgers, Ball St, and Air Force are comparable to Mich St, U Conn, and UVA. Navy averaged 28 points per game against those teams, while Pitt could only put up 14. From what I have watched Navy does at least run the ball well. I haven't seen anything that Pitt does well. Navy was outscored 95-86 by their opponents, while Pitt was outscored 95-42. It's not scientific, but there is a pattern. Navy has been competitive, Pitt hasn't.
October 10, 200718 yr I always had a soft spot for Navy. Grew up just a few miles from Annapolis, and I'm old enough to remember the Staubach years. My great-grandfather was a one-time mayor of Annapolis. Go Navy!

October 10, 200718 yr Author I am leaning on Navy based on the opposition this season: Navy has a couple of quality wins (even Temple is a decent win on the road this season) and a quality loss (on the road at Rutgers) Pitt has 2 wins, but not really any quality (E. Michigan 2-4 and Grambling St. 4-1 in the FCS) Pitts losses occurred when the competition stepped up (Mich. St, UCONN, and Virginia) I think I might take Navy and the points, at least for now anyways.
October 10, 200718 yr Author Since it is the only game on TV, Ill have to watch it.... Heres to hoping its an entertaining game.... I have discovered that some of the most compelling games are these midweek games between Nobody St. and Smalltown Tech! I love college football.:thumb:
October 10, 200718 yr Navy by 10. The Navy is coached by Paul Johnson, the finest football coach in America. That is NOT tongue in cheek. I like their QB, their style of play, and their heart. Go Middies.
