October 1, 200718 yr I agree and many of the students at our school agree also. When we had representatives go to our board about this issue, they wanted all students to be randomly drug tested, but as you stated they can't. As for you statemeyt, a board has to have all the student's welfare in mind..... the supreme court needs to think about that also. I will and am drug tested and would anytime needed and cannot see how this infringes on anyone's rights. Drugs are illegal and if you are not doing something illegal, I dont' see why you would care. Why should jocks be tested and no one else.
October 1, 200718 yr Why should jocks be tested and no one else. Exactly....You can't test athletes and no one else. At the same time, if you test everybody, what is the penalty for students that aren't involved in any activities? If you don't catch them doing it on campus, what can you do?

October 2, 200718 yr Participation in athletics is not an educational requirement. I'm for any extracurricular activity, involving student-athletes testing for banned or illegal substances. It could help save their lives, plus keep the contest within the governing rules. They should also include Bus Drivers and Coaches, who transport, oversee and supervise these athletes. Forward findings to the designated school representative and the offending person.

THAT is the slippery slope.

THAT is the slippery slope. I never said I was ok with anyone coming into my home! That is a little different then having a mandatory drug test. The kids shouldn't be using drugs, its illegal... against the law. It's a little more severe then just breaking team rules. If they are using steriods, or what ever the drug is, it should be dealt with accordingly.
