September 27, 200719 yr A month ago, Demetrius Jones was getting ready to start his first game at quarterback for Notre Dame. On Thursday afternoon he walked into University of Cincinnati football coach Brian Kelly’s office and told him that he wanted to play for the Bearcats. http://news.enquirer.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20070927/SPT0101/709270358
September 27, 200719 yr It's a massive pickup for UC. He's a perfect fit for the spread, and will have a fantastic three years as a Bearcat...

September 27, 200719 yr So that's a no on Northern Illinois? I haven't been keeping up, therefore I'm confused... ND wouldn't release him to NIU...
September 27, 200719 yr ND wouldn't release him to NIU... But they would to UC? That seems odd...they compete with UC for Big East bowl bids and potentially midwestern American recruits, depending on the job Coach Kelly continues to do. I would think they would want him at NIU.

September 28, 200719 yr HUGE pick up for the cats. I believe this will help local recruiting as well. People are starting to realize the higher caliber players are playing in Clifton.... not just Columbus.
September 28, 200719 yr What might this do to the Dominick Britt verbal commitment? It looks like the makings of a log jam at quarterback for the Bearcats. A nice problem to have.
September 28, 200719 yr What might this do to the Dominick Britt verbal commitment? It looks like the makings of a log jam at quarterback for the Bearcats. A nice problem to have. Britt is a very solid verbal. He's going to be at UC. Brendan Kay worries me now as do the two Frosh redshirting this year. I expect Anderson and/or Collaros to move to a new position...
September 28, 200719 yr So with the transfer in midseason, when can he play? UC is on the quarter system, so his transfer year will be this one. He will be an eligible sophomore in 2008...
September 28, 200719 yr UC is on the quarter system, so his transfer year will be this one. He will be an eligible sophomore in 2008... "Gametime"......I know you are very good about having your facts in order, but the fact that Demitrius Jones would be eligible in the fall of 2008 at Cincinnati after starting the first game of the 2007 season at Notre Dame, does not sound right to me.
