September 22, 200719 yr Author Big question...where is the proof that Owen is consciously NOT scheduling private schools? I am not doubting it, I just like evidence before I make a decision (type D personality ). It is very hard to "prove" this kind of thing because public school powers that be are famous for their creative explanations on this subject. What I would suggest is if you know anyone in the coaching ranks at Owen County I would ask them about it.

September 26, 200719 yr The interesting ancillary question is whether the public schools that boycott the private schools will also then agree to boycott the public schools that don't boycott the private schools. I'm sure that Highlands won't boycott the private schools. Will the publics that do then boycott Highlands? Frankly I don't give a hoot if they do. It may make Highlands scheduling a little tougher; then again it may may it easier as there will be a lot of public schools in the same boat as Highlands. Perhaps a few more Ohio schools on the schedule and perhaps a few longer in state trips, but I'm good with both of those possibilities. We will get even stronger as a result; the teams that boycott will get even weaker; and the end result will be more state championships. That as Martha likes to say "is a good thing".

In the conversations I have had with coaches that schools are in the boycott, nothing was ever said about a public school not in the boycott. It was all about the privates. Did the Lexington public schools get weaker when they decided to not play LexCath?

Did the Lexington public schools get weaker when they decided to not play LexCath? They may not have gotten any weaker, but they certainly didn't get any stronger either. The same can't be said for LexCath.

So to answer your question: yes.
