^ Wow BillyRayJoeBob, sounds like you must have five D-1 running backs there in the mountains... sounds like a good genetic line you have there in the hills. At Lex Cath, there is only one D-1 running back... or he should be a D-1 back.

Funny you should mention that. The Honaker twins are sons of Tim Honaker, who was on state championship teams at Pikeville, was all-state and had a lot of D-1 offers as well...Look the Honaker twins up on rivals.com and see for yourself.:thumb:

I know you are just giving me a hard time...but shouldn't you be more humble after the beatdown you just took from X??? ;) j/k man, lol...

Win or lose this game will make Pikeville a better football team...GO PANTHERS!!

This is absolutey correct ! :thumb: I do not think that Pikeville will win the game but kudo's to the Panthers coach and AD for scheduling the game. I will be pulling for the class A Panthers.

I predict a moral victory for Pikeville. They will have 150+ rushing yards and claim to have won the line of scrimmage and hit harder. Meanwhile LexCath will go over and around the Pikeville line on thier way to at least a 4 score victory.

That's what is supposed to happen what the top-rated Class 4A team plays a 1A team...shows the character of the Pikeville program to schedule the game.

How's the moral victories from the X game working out for you?:thumb:

;) I thought i was giving Pikeville a compliment BillyRayJoeBob - and trying to be humble at the same time - Pikeville has five solid running backs, while Lex Cath has just one great back (who may not play at all) and two good backs who will fill in during his absence. I wasn't giving you a hard time at all!... just commenting on the running back gene pool (as indicated by the Honaker Twins and Father Tim Honaker!). I'm sure it will be a good game, and we still look forward to coming to Pikeville. We will try to be good guests! :thumb:

Just funnin' with ya PoppaBear...of course I am excited about the game, even though Lexington Catholic is the huge favorite...I know LexCath is absolutely stacked with great athletes...:thumb:

I just got on Rivals.com and watched the film of the Honaker boys playing linebacker - looks like they have great closing speed to the ball and love to deliver a pop! And they probably play with the attitude of a country boy - a little ornery and wild - I want to see them in person now!

I, too, will be pulling for the Panthers, rambler, for obvious reasons. And I hope that the Panthers can give the Knights a better game than we did a few years ago at their house. :thumb:

And PoppaBear, you will be surprised with the number of changes in 20+ yrs., even if you don't have an occasion to travel south of Pikeville, with US 23 now 4 full lanes all the way past Jenkins, and connected to the previously existing 4-Lane in VA. :D

HAHA "Ornery"..... yeah I think some poeple would describe the way the Honaker's play as that.....:sssh:

I have a feeling this game will be closer than most are predicting.

Pikeville was a big favorite for the region last year but got beat in the 2nd round of the district after several Panther faithful said that there was no way that Somerset could beat Pikeville at Pikeville. They were actually right, Hazard beat Pikeville at Pikeville and then Somerset pummelled Hazard. This year no one in the mountains is up to playing with Lex Cath. As bad as I hate to call it I'll go Lex Cath 49- Pikeville 14 on LC's reserves. You can't beat Hazard you won't sniff LC.

I do have to say that no matter my earlier prediction that I think Pikeville is the best small school in the mountains this year. I don't think that they'll come close to LexCath but I think they can play in the state title game.
