I see Raceland's offensive line winning this one for the Rams. I just dont think East can compete with Raceland's front 5. Logan and Chinn will be clearing the holes for Denton and Carver all night long. Mix in a solid passing game and some stingy defense and I see the Rams winning this game fairly easy.

RHS 31 (My other prediction- Denton rushes for 100+ yds.)

I saw Raceland & East Carter at a couple of gridaramas earlier this season. I see it being a RAMbunctious night . Raceland will name the score .

Raceland goes 2-0.

The key for the Rams will be coming out focused and not overlooking East Carter. The Rams can't be looking ahead to next weeks match up with Fairview. I think the coaching staff will make sure they play one game at a time and have them ready.

^ it is an age old saying but "one game at a time". Yes, next week is a big district game and a bitter rival but the Rams will have to concentrate on East or they will go home with a "L". Fear no one but respect all. :thumb:

People on here don't think much of East Carter. I know you can't compare scores, but East Carter did beat Boyd Co. Maybe a little closer game then predicted by many.

We appreciate the post jerico51. No doubt Raceland is an outstanding team and well coached. Congrats to them for their Ashland win. Fairview beat us fair and square last Fri. nite. From watching both games IMO Boyd is and was the better of the two teams we've played. New offensive schemes take time to learn, unfortunately we're still working thru the X's and O's. Penalties abound usually from frustrated players that got manhandled on the previous play. Something Coach Baldwin will have to deal with one on one. Friday's game will reflect how well the new coach adjusts to different teams ability to move the ball, as well as defending the end zone. Looking forward to a competitive atmosphere in Ram-Land come Friday Nite!

I am sure East will work through their growing pains, and they seem to be a decent football team. Should make for a good HS football game at Ram stadium.

Raceland should win this one, even though East is really physical they will hit you on defense (3-5-3 odd stack defense) but they aren't great on offense, Carroll is a threat but that is about it

I'm interested in this 3-5-3 defense, is this the same defense that East Carter played against Raceland several years back when Raceland went to the passing offense? I remember several years back East Carter came to Raceland and only had three defenders on the defensive line and everyone else back in pass defense. I believe it worked pretty well against Raceland that year, Raceland still won, but it did make it harder to run the passing offense. Raceland did not see another defense like that until the playoffs.

That being said, Raceland is a very balanced offensive team this year. Against Ashland Raceland showed, what I would guess 60/40, Run/Pass. How does this defense stack up against the run? I would guess that Boyd Co. showed mostly run against East Carter, I would also guess that Fairview showed predominately run against East Carter. Did these two teams have trouble against East Carter's defense by their own hand, or was East Carter's defense that strong against the run?

I Read in The Independent's High School Preview where East Carter's coach said this defense was a speed oriented defense, but it was vulnerable at times. Does that mean that it is vulnerable to the pass if they are in a blitz, or to the run when they are in a pass coverage? I just can't see this as a good defense versus a team that is, essentially 50% run and 50% pass.

The people of Raceland and the coaches / players respect the Raiders. They always bring a team into this game and play hard to the final horn. Should be a very good game.
