I will break my down by point, 2 guard , and 3 which is a larger guard.

 

Point Guard- Raechelle Gray without a doubt is the best point in the region. She has a complete game- scoring, passing, defending. She is the best guard and overall player in the region as well IMO.

 

2 Guard- Chelsea Tolliver - great outside shooter and can drive as well. She is a pretty good defender- quick and physical. She can play the point as well but I don't think she can handle the ball as well as Gray can.

 

3 Guard- Lauren Jones - @ 5'10 she creates matchup problems for smaller guards who she then posts up. She can shoot the three, mid- range jumper, or drive it. Great free throw shooter- a very smart player who finds a way.

 

 

Crazy8 - Agree with you except I do think that Amber Girdy is a pretty good point also. Her and Gray matched up pretty good in C-town when they played, but I would have to give the edge to Gray on size and probably shooting. The edge definitely goes to Girdy for Defense though

 

I like Courtney Milam from Anderson Co. in the Post she is probably undersized but plays tough.

I disagree Madman, I have seen Heeger twice at Trimble Co. One game she had 7-3's and the other game she had 4-3's. She also played really good defense.

I think that actually you need to remove WV from being one of the top teams in the 8th. They just are not showing it yet, and are suffering from some of the same problems they had last year.

 

I am not even sure they are top in the all A at this time. I think Anderson County is one of the top 4. I am looking forward to the match-up between Shelby and Anderson Co. to see where they stand.

I agree. They just do not have the strength. I do see them getting stronger as the season continues, but you have to take into account that other teams will get stronger too. As it stands right now I see them falling a little short at seasons end.:cry:

They got destroyed by S.K. and lost to an average Holmes team. If they are one of the top teams they shouldn't have lost to Holmes and SK by 30+. Do you realize that you are bashing a teenager in a public forum?: Keep in mind that these same teenagers and parents probably read this forum. If you are an adult, I am sure you would not want someone criticize your teenage child in a public forum. Just because a kid chooses to play High School sports, that does not give you or anyone else the right to criticize them publicly.

See SCHOOL ADMINISTRATION:fire:..they wanted to take the program in a different direction 2 years ago when they relieved the previous coach of his duties and hired an inexperienced replacement. The new coach tries extremely hard it's just that the core coaching skills (basic knowledge of the game, strategy, ability to teach, ability to motivate, ability to adjust during games, etc., etc.) just aren't there...did I mention that the prior coach was relieved of his duties at the end of a season in which, I believe, he received regional & conference recognition for his performance....nice!!!

 

This WV team appears to have no motivation, desire or will to win. There was a time when this team had the ability to compete with other 8th region schools.

Agreed! Hopefully Walton can just pull through. I feel bad for the Jr's and Sr's on the team, to have this happen to them. Always upsetting to see kid's go through this their last year of High School Ball.

The Juniors and Seniors? From what I have seen WV's 7th and 8th graders, along with Kelly Dixon (a freshmen) are very talented. I feel bad for them if this is the new direction the program is going in.

I agree that their very talented, but I feel for the Hargett's and other players that are GREAT girls, and basketball players! Their Jr and year is messed up, the worst years they have ever played. My heart goes out to those girls!

The key is "who will be coaching them?" If things don't change, the "new direction" will continue and that would be awful for the kids.:confused:
