Oh the life, of a single guy....:D

Or the parent of a kids playing multiple sports in the same season.

It seems I spend as much time in a drivethru somewhere than in the kitchen.

No set days for a particular dinner. I cook almost every night. Like Gold Sunrise, I put up corn, tomatoes, speckled butter beans, and anything else that we think of for that year...however, these are things I put up every year.

Tonight was a simple meal...home made fried potatoes, eggs, saugage, bacon, and home made biscuits.

Tomorrow will be fried pork chops (thick and juicy), put up corn (I add a little oil, butter, and sugar in them), peas, stuffing for pork, and some kind of bread.

I am like Gold Sunrise, there is nothing better than a home cooked meal, and yes, I have a few spoiled people here also!!! LOL

I grilled some chicken for myself tonight. I eat a lot of chicken. That and hamburgers are the only thing I can cook (Thank you George Foreman). Oh , and the occasional bowl of oatmeal.

For me, Hamburger helper (Bacon Cheeseburger Edition) never gets old. I ask for that at least a couple times a week.

The first year I was married, I worked construction and $ was tight in the winter w/ the weather. We always butcher a cow every year, and had a freezer full of hamburger. I ate so much Hamburger Helper that first year of marriage, 10 years later, I still won't let my wife fix the stuff.

Have you thought about Tuna Helper?

No set menu..when I have the kids,I try to fix something they like (Spaghetti,Beans cornbread and fried potatoes,lasagna)..but we always have one Pizza night!!

Have tried a few varieties, but I just prefer a homemade meal rather than a box meal. I likes Hamburger Helper until I got burned out on it.

Since I retired 2 years ago and my wife still works Ive done most of the cooking during the week . Monday it was gourmet Hamburgers with Chopped onions ,Hickery smoke flavoring and a spice combo I got at Sam's called gourmet burger I took two patties put garlic butter in the middle and pressed them together to make one burger With Hoffmans Super sharp cheese melted on top had this with Bushes baked beans and homemade german potato salad. Tuesday I made garlic Chicken fettechini alfredo with broccoli . Tonight we ate at Bob Evans . Tomorrow I'll fix Spinach asiago cheese sausages on the grill with a mixture of a green pepper ,vidalia onion and red delicious apple sauteed in olive oil . Friday is too far ahead . Since I retired Ive learned to love to cook and my wife likes it too .

I may stop in and see you Saturday, so have the Salmon and steamed zucchini ready....:D

I have plenty of zucchini right now...make the best zucchini bread...made up my own recipe..it is great. How about Salmon on the grill with fresh rosemary???;)

I think I have gained 5 lbs. just reading this thread:eek:

Like others sated, we do not have a set menu, especially since our kids are no longer at home.

In the Summer & early Fall we cook out on the grill almost every evening and normally go out to eat on Friday's and Saturdays before attending the football game. Sunday is normally fried chicken day with all the trimmings.

Oh My....:thumb:

I love throwing stuff in the slow cooker in the morning and eating it that night.

Quick & easy Spanish soup: one package Spanish rice, 1/2 cup white rice, 10 cups water, one can cream style corn, dice one pound of summer sausage and one onion, dash of hot sauce. Let in cook on low while you're at work. Optional items would include diced tomatoes, Old Bay, shrimp or anything that strikes your fancy. (I don't know if I ever really make it the same way twice!)

I have no set menu....although I do eat a grilled cheese sandwich and fries from our cafe at least once a week. That's usually my one unhealthy meal of the week. Lately....at least the past several weeks....every meal has included at least one fresh garden tomato. Yummy!
