Some of those plays he didn't have a choice but to take a sack, they were on him before he caught the snap. I agree he has to play like a three year starter but I thought Saturday was a whole lot better than Last year.

The Grounding call was questionable Moloney was in the area. That crew was bad on Saturday.

Saturday if they don't miss tackles on the Elliot TD. They beat a very good Football team. It is like they got beat 35-9.

Can't argue that. There were a couple instances where they were all over him. But there were a couple where he had time to run or throw it away, particularly on 4th down.

Maloney was at the line blocking still, and the throw went to far to consider him to be in the area. I really couldn't argue with that call. I called it as soon as the flag was thrown, whereas everyone around me thought it was going to be roughing the passer. And that ref on our side of the field was horrible. Some of the calls he made, or didn't make, were bad.

I still think they're the better team, but conditioning became a factor in the game. Dixie lost their legs at half, and Beechwood didn't. IMO, that's what ultimately lost the game. On Elliots last run, there were 5 defenders there waiting to make the tackle, and he bounced outside and down the sideline. However, I thought they had the opportunity to really put them away early.

All they can do from Saturday's game is look at what they did good and what they didn't do good, and build on it. I know Sorrell will tweak the defense where he sees fit. He always takes a couple games to get his personnel set. I liked what I saw from the group early before getting tired. That obviously will change after a couple games. Offensively, I'm done beating that dead horse. :D Special teams, I'd like to see the gunners get down the field faster. I believe Jett averaged an amazing 50 yards on his 4 punts. He had plenty of leg on the two field goals. I would like to see him drop back about 5 more yards on his kickoffs to get some more momentum into his kickoffs, but maybe he's tried it in practice and wasn't successfull.

Also, I hope EJ's hamstring injury isn't that bad.

You cant live off ifs and buts..

Nope, but you can talk about them. :D

The battle of the winless teams.I have to go with my Pioneers!!!!!!

Yes you CAN, thats the beauty of it.

Should you? Only if your looking for your credibility to plunge.

Not really, by saying a team would have won if they didn't make a mistake here or there doesn't hurt your credibility.

Actually what he said was well thought out and supported by facts. Now that's not to say that facts can't be somewhat misleading at times either, but he was very specific. I agree with some of them, if not most but am willing to give the team a little leeway, at least until after week 4.

Then we'll know for sure where we stand. It's not a bad thing to call the team out you know, especially from one of it's most loyal and supportive fans. It can be the catalyst to fire them up. I firmly believe as does Nees that this years team CAN win a state championship. It just depends on how much they collectively as a group want it. I like the team concept these boys have developed after last year and the end of the previous season it is refreshing to see.

I have very little doubt that Dixie will win this one Big. If it were not for the heat on Saturday we wouldn't even be having this conversation. There were alot of mistakes on Saturday, and Joe being the leader is getting called out right or wrong. QB's always do, it comes with the job. The truth is we ran out of gas as a team.

With that settled, I was talking about going on IF's and But's as conveyed by PutMeInCoach. I understand what you're saying SM, but am confused as to why your connecting this to my previous post.

Yeah really. I love listening to a person who's scrounging for an answer to justify why his or her team lost or is in the painful process of losing (It usually starts with an IF or But).

Would you believe I was off my rocker if I said the Oakland Raiders will win the Superbowl IF they (somehow) land Tom Brady?

I thought so.:D

Dixie. They have a chip on their shoulders after game 1.

No, you're still wrong. Saying something stupid would hurt your credibility, but merely stating that things would be different if something happened does not.

IF you say so.

Start a new thread and discuss the game, not each other.
