They beat NCC in a scrimmage, don't know that I would say they're for sure the better team because of that. Besides, I gave all the reasons why I didn't think SK would win. IF SK doesn't have 6 or so unforced turnovers like the other night this could be a good game. Dixie is the safe bet, but whats fun about picking them when there is no money on the line.

Didnt base it off the scrimmage, i just think overall Dixie has a better team than NCC with a lot more experience.

Oh so we're bringin burgers into the picture? C'mon over.:thumb:

But I think we're also digressing on the subject.

If Dixie gets out of the spread offense, and gets back under center like they did the last half of last year, then Dixie wins big. If they run the same offense and shout the plays out like they did Saturday, then it's going to be a close game.

That is a good idea work all summer on an Offense loose 1 game and throw it out the window. That is why I am glad you are not the Coach of my alumi.

Dixie will be fine they adjusted the play calling in the second half they grouped together instead of yelling out the plays.

Agree 100% with you Dewey47! All the criticism..... :irked:

Dixie will be just fine!

It didn't work last year, and I don't see it working this year. They don't have the personnel again to make it work. The receivers cannot create separation. Bricking is still making the same mistakes he made last year. IMO, an 80-20 mix of pass-run will not work with this team. Granted, it's only game 1, but it's still the same core players. I may eat crow later down the road, but I'll stick with my opinion that the offense needs to change. Whether it be reverting to last year's unbalanced line, or just switching up some to run some plays under center.

The kid made one mistake cut him a break. They will be fine, I am would say they ran the ball almost as much as they threw the ball on Saturday. I will see what I can find out.

When did they run an unbalanced Line? Against Ryle last year they were in spread most of the game and that was the last game of the season.

By the way Dixie Wins.

My concern is the mistakes that were made were mistakes that a 3 year starter should not make (taking sacks, intentional grounding, int, etc). I don't doubt the physical abilities he has. It's the mental aspect that still has me concerned. He has the potential to be the top qb in NKY, but IMO, he's digressed since his sophomore year. As for the mix in run and pass, I'd be curious to see the numbers too. However, I'd like to see the numbers relative to the plays called, not the scrambles.

They switched up the offense mid season last year. It was either the Conner or Boone game. It was very effective as it opened up the passing game more, and it utilized all their offensive weapons, including the size on the line. I'd just like to see more two back sets with Bricking under center, and the offensive playbook expanded. Out of the spread, it seemed that they really only ran a variation of a few plays. However, it may be Spritzky didn't want to show everything with CCH and Highlands coming up in the next few weeks.

I, along with you and every other Dixie alumni/supporter, want to see Dixie succeed. Especially after all those years in the basement, pre-Spritzky. It's just my opinion that this team won't be as successfull as they should with what was shown Saturday.

Some of those plays he didn't have a choice but to take a sack, they were on him before he caught the snap. I agree he has to play like a three year starter but I thought Saturday was a whole lot better than Last year.

The Grounding call was questionable Moloney was in the area. That crew was bad on Saturday.

Saturday if they don't miss tackles on the Elliot TD. They beat a very good Football team. It is like they got beat 35-9. The season is not a loss because of 1 loss
