Unless Conner has improved CONSIDERABLY from last year, JC will win big and I mean BIG. I haven't see Conner play this year so they may have improved, but last year they were really slow on O and D. With Grimm's quickness, I think he'll have a big game.

Conner has a good bit of speed and a nice running game. The QB is a soph and throws a nice ball. I didn't expect ANYTHING out of them in our first scrimmage and they impressed me as a better than average team for our area. Will they win 6A in NKY? I don't know but they will give teams fits along the way.

:thumb: Sounds like the Eagles could be in for a test friday. Thanks for the info. This should be a more formidable test for the Eagles run defense and defense as a whole.

The offensive line play concerned me against South Point. Grimm still manages 120+ yards on the ground against the Pointers on only 12 carries and 230+ total yardage. But, the holes that were there last season were not there Saturday Night. I am anxious to see how much that offensive line improves from week 1 to week 2.

The game time temp is going to be around 75 so I don't think it will be pushed back. Should be a great night for high school football around the state!

Its obvious that they are mixed opinions about what Conner can present. Still, its at "The Nest", and the Eagles are ready to put on a show on their new turf. To much Ratliff and Grimm for the Cougars. My prediction:

The offensive line play would be a concern for me if it wasnt for the man on the sidelines, Coach Burchett. This man is an offensive line genius. He always puts together a solid line and gameplan. The play of the O-line will get better and I believe we will see a difference this week.

Johnson Central needs to have a great game Friday night going into next week's district opener at Bryan Station.

On the Coach Matney show this week, the ole' ball coach said about 4 different times in different variations that Conner has 2000 students.. just wondering if he was being accurate or doing his typical Matney " Us vs. The World"

Well Conner does have alot of students, but I doubt 2000. Probably in the 1300 to 1500 range. This will not be Matneys first go around with the Cougars. He faced Conner a couple of times while at SC. Here's one that cant wait for the opening of the new turf at JC.

Just as a side note, anyone else like the picture of Shawn Grimm on the BluegrassPrep home page soaring above the SP player for the TD. Doing his best Reggie Bush impression. Looks pretty good if you ask me.
