Gotta be a freshman or sophomore at Holy Cross .

Let me remind a couple of you of rule #2 and rule # 5. If you don't know what they are, I suggest you go check them out now.

I never would imagine anyone talking about their team winning a state title after defeating North Laurel by 3 points....

The game would have been a blow out if the game was played somewhere besides there. The refs were absolutley horrible late flags, 6 personal fouls on HC, atleast two pentalties brought HC back from a touchdown not just saying this because i am an HC fan i was there saw every bit of it with my own eyes, and im sure other people would say the same thing.

Good for Cov Holy Cross, you won a game on the road down state, but NCC and other teams have been doing that for years, and by much larger margins, and against much tougher opponents. While Cov Holy Cross has come a long way in a relative short time, you all still have a long road...... ahead of you....

Football State Championship are not won in the first couple of weeks in the season! Football State Championship are won in the last couple of weeks of the season, and NCC has been there, done that, while Cov Holy Cross has always been watching and playing Basketball. When Cov Holy Cross does get to the state finals one year (note I didn't even say you had to win, just get to the finals), then people will take notice of your team.

Holy Cross's program is on the rise. They've had a few good Frosh classes as of late. However, their varsity coaching staff is not as good as NewCath's and that has made the difference throughout the years. NewCath's staff and the way that they condition their players now is superior to HCs. That's why NewCath went from losing by 7 last year in the regular season to winning in the playoffs by 36 or so.

I think that Holy Cross will have something to say to NCC during the season, it should be a good game... But once the playoffs roll around NCC will be there to play just like they are every year... they get better as the year progresses... thats why they were 2-5 to start the year last year then just rolled off 8 in a row and won the title... If somehow Holy cross does beat NCC in the playoffs they will still have the likes of Danville and O-cath to deal with

Don't forget Bardstown :thumb:

Sharp against who Simon Kenton!!! Don't get me wrong NCC is good but not good enough this year!!

Why is the fact that it was against Simon Kenton, a team that has pounded HC for 3 straight years, matter? I mean, SK should beat HC, I just don't get why them as the opponent should discredit that fact that NCC looked good.

If NCC's defense continues to play well and get better as the season goes along, HC will not beat them come playoff time. They might pull off another upset in the season, but I doubt NCC will overlook them again.

I think everone needs to hold their opinions about H.C. They play NCC on sept. 21st at NCC. Before them, they play Holmes and then Western hills. They were starting to show improvement in class A and then they get booted into class 2A.

Holy Cross will have a good shot if the O-line steps up and blocks for Reardon!! Thoughts on this one?

Ha I think they will have a hard enough time getting the 2 seed this year in their own district. I definitely dont think they will get by NCC in the season or the playoffs, and I think Newport actually might surprise them as well when the two play...

Bla, bla, bla!! Same old song and dance. I respect all the HC fans opinions as I wish all the NKY teams good luck but the season just started. What have they done? Yes, winningest season ever(I think) last yr. Lots of hipe going into the BHS game, as they were going to dethrown them and start a new reign in NKY 1A. Well, guess what? Lots of hipe.

As futurecoach stated, they may have trouble getting the 2 seed in their own dist. Lloyd lost to a very good E'town team Fri in the last minutes and could give everyone in the dist a run for their money.

I forgot all about Lloyd because you are a right they are a team that probably will give HC all they can handle. And as I mention before I believe Newport will have something for HC as well. HC is starting to build a nice little program there, but the fans for HC definitely overhype them alot more than they should, just like last year....

Or Ft Campbell, or Trigg Co, or Corbin, just to name a few more...
