August 24, 200719 yr If he refuses to plead guilty to those charges, I would take him to trial, and put him away for a long time. What a loser.... Maybe there's a bigger "Dog" in the industry than Vick, and Vick is leading them to him to save his own butt.
August 24, 200719 yr I think a big part in sentencing is remorse. Vick shows none. He sees this as a hic-cup in his life. He's unwilling to admit wrongdoing. This would indicate that the courts will be seeing him again in the future. When I read your posting of hiccup, I actually could hear you hiccupping as you wrote it!
August 24, 200719 yr Maybe there's a bigger "Dog" in the industry than Vick, and Vick is leading them to him to save his own butt. You can't get much bigger than Michael Vick.....
August 24, 200719 yr The PDF of the plea- http://sports.espn.go.com/photo/2007/0824/vickplea.pdf On a side note, what a signature from Vick, huh? So from reading that, it seems he still didn't plead guilty to killing the dogs or gambling...
August 24, 200719 yr Ok, some of you may have said this, but just to clarify for me with a definitive answer, what does Vick not admitting to killing dogs or gambling mean in the big scheme of things? If he is not convicted of Gambling he may be able to return to thr NFL, or at least have ab etter chance. JMO
August 24, 200719 yr Here is my question- does Michael Vick really understand why all this fuss has been made about dogfighting? Does he understand that it is truly cruel to dogs? Or does he just see it as something that he and his buddies do to pass the time? Vick and people (if you want to call them that) only think about and are concerned with what pleases them and nothing or no one else.
August 24, 200719 yr Here is my question- does Michael Vick really understand why all this fuss has been made about dogfighting? Does he understand that it is truly cruel to dogs? Or does he just see it as something that he and his buddies do to pass the time? I think he understands but really doesn't care. He absolutely think's he is above reproach and can do anything he wishes to do.
August 24, 200719 yr Vick and people (if you want to call them that) only think about and are concerned with what pleases them and nothing or no one else.I think you may be a little tough on Vick here. I'm certainly not condoning his actions but dog fighting, chicken fighting, or any other animal cruelty venues, are done in covertly and in secret. They are for entertainment purposes and they obviously knew it's wrong, or they would conducting these grotesque matches in full view. The problem is, those who partake never thought they would be caught.
August 24, 200719 yr I wonder when Goodell will weigh in on Vick, since we know what Vick is pleaing to?
August 24, 200719 yr It was my understanding from news reports that the NFL wasn't going to make any statements until after the feds finished their case. The NFL was also conducting their own investigation into the matter but wasn't going to interfere with the federal case.
August 24, 200719 yr Was watching ESPN earlier and Mort was on saying he's thinking best case scenario is 2010 before Vick plays again.
August 24, 200719 yr I just head on our local news that Michel Vick has been suspended indefinately from the NFL! :ylsuper: :ylsuper: I am sure that it would be on espn or any sports station, I just haven't checked it yet.
August 24, 200719 yr Was watching ESPN earlier and Mort was on saying he's thinking best case scenario is 2010 before Vick plays again. I'm pretty sure Mort has been wrong on the Vick situation more than once already. I take anything I hear from these "experts" with a grain of salt.
