Back To School Blues?

Featured Replies

For SURE, I've got the back to school blues, but there's some positives as well... but mostly blues.

The good being that having a last-session summer course makes the transition easier. Also, this is HOPEFULLY going to be my last semester.

The bad being that all but one of my classes are going to require too much time outside of class, and that's something my job is going to REALLY hurt me on. Also, my Tuesday and Thursday classes start at 8am. I missed my first class yesterday because of AWFUL traffic. That's never happened to me on the first day. The 2nd bad omen came when I was sitting in my 2nd class with 5 other people and no teacher for half an hour, when one girl got the smarts to call the office and found out that our class had been moved, but since the professor sent out an email (like I check my school email, pshh) they hadn't bothered to post anything on the door.

Being a senior and a half makes me feel really, really old, considering this year apparently has broken the record number for Freshmen at UofL... although I think last year was the other record, so that doesn't help my case much. They're swarming all over campus.

I started last monday and all is well so far, wasn't as bad of a transition as I thought it was gonna be. The only bad part is I knew 2 other people when I started school and they were from KY.

Thank you, along with all the others. As I pulled into school no traffic problems at NKU, but parking, ha, that took three lot's. I told my friend on my cell; "I can't wait til people start dropping classes!":dancingpa

That's why I hate the first 2 weeks of school so much. After that, the traffic dies down, the parking gets easier, the classrooms and shuttles become less crowded and life just gets much better all around.

Enjoy school now and hope it goes slow, once you graduate and get in the real world you will have the back to work on Monday blues often. Don't wish your life away take it one day at a time. I wished I was back in school!! JD

Eh, I had a pretty solid summer so I can't complain about going back. I generally enjoy going to class. Of course, this will be my 3rd consecutive semester of taking 18 hours, so that always makes it a bit painful. :irked:

Shouldnt you be in class right now?!?!?!?!?!?!

I had my first class at 9:30 today. The beginning of the semester is always overwhelming and I hate this stage but once you get in the flow it's not too bad.

Call me a wuss but my emotions are all over the place at the start of every semester, there isn't one semester that starts that I dont think I just want to quit....

I dont know if anyone else feels that way but I thought I would share..

When first starting college I was too excited about it to want to quit.

Then around sophomore year I wanted to quit REALLY BAD. Same thing Junior and begining of senior year.

But once you get to a point where you realize you're only so many credit hours away from graduating, it makes it a bit easier to force yourself to go to class.

:thumb: Excellent advice and oh so true.

Traffic on Monday was horrible. I arrived a half an hour late to class on my first day. Today however, was too easy.:walk:

I get what you're saying, but I think the majority of us already have the back to work blues even with school, and what not. My summer was spent working 40 hours a week with not a one vacation day. I can't wait to just have a job. Between school and work it's like working 60+ hours a week. More if you count the commuting.
