Jajuan Spillman a DUI and Drug Charges???

Featured Replies

Wow, a little bit shocking he's been allowed to practice and has faced no suspension.

^ He still faces a suspension, but after the courts decide his legal fate. I am very, very disappointed in this news and actually hope he has learned from his decision, with that I feel that he will settle for wreckless driving, do some community service and this will all be over for better or worse. For what it's worth, I would be willing to bet that he has already dealt with some penalties behind closed doors.

I will be honest, I think that there needs to be some action before then I think that if he put himself in such a stupid position, whether or not he is found legally at fault, I think he should get at least a three game suspension for breaking team rules including the UK game. He needs to grow up and grow up quick, I know the new coaches coming in are still trying to get to know these guys, but Jujuan is from Louisville and the coaches that have been here awhile should realize that he has a history of mental lapses in judgment and that he needs to realize that stupid mistakes can cost a person their life in a heart beat.

I really think he needs to sit a few games out, regardless if it hurts the team or not, that was Jujuan's choice to put himself and team in that situation. Just my opinion. The court is going to determine if Jujuan is legally guilty of a crime and will hand out justice on that level. But at a lower more basic level he has put himself in a dumb situation and he owes his team and school some time in the doghouse.

Coach K said today that it has been addressed and dealt with, none of us know the penalty....I will give Coach K the benefit of the doubt on this one.

You do realize that the above sounds like rationalization, correct?

^ To be honest...the way he has dismissed players, and disciplined others, I have no choice but to give him the benefit right now. JaJuan is a good player, not great....it's not like that was Douglass or Urrutia and they did nothing, it was an incoming sophomore. Like I said, until he proves otherwise, I will err with Coach K.

Unless it involves some game suspension time the punishment isn't severe enough. I guess it hasn't been established yet whether or not that is the case but with the marijuana involved "updowns" or laps are not enough.

^ How do you know...we don't know the outcome yet....like I said none of us know what his punishment was, or is...we can't judge yet.

Not to back track at all because I stand by my statement, but Coach K has let some really talented players go so I am sure that there are circumstances that we don't know as to why he is letting things play out. But from the information I have from the news, and my limited 4 hours of time that I have spent around this young man, if I had to make a decision then he would sit 3 games. But like RP said Coach Krag says this is being taken care of so I will wait it out and see.

I wondered why he was listed so low on the UL depth chart at WR. I have to now wonder if the two are related.

Reread my post. I didn't pretend to know and I said that we'll have to wait and see for the true punishment. I don't mind giving the kid a second chance, from what I read he's not had that easy of a time. I'm just saying that any punishment should involve bench time. Read it again.

Where is a depth chart???

I've heard this isn't his first go-around and a previous charge was dropped. I'm wondering why it took so long for this to come to light. Reminds me of Antwain Barbour's charge a few years back that were released months later.
