It's in the back at our house, and for what some would say an odd reason.

We've always had at least one cat in the house (currently three); and invariably one of them will do one of those "mice running in a cage" things with the toilet paper. Standing on its back legs, the cat will bat at the roll of paper. If the paper hangs over the front, the cat will manage to unroll all of the paper into the floor in about 30 seconds. If the paper hangs over the back, that won't happen.

Thats what I was talking about, same problem with toddlers.

Sorry, I missed your earlier post. It's a practical reason for making the choice. However; it looks like 3 or 4 times as many poll respondents don't have cats or kids than do.

I don't know why I always hang it like that. (to the back) Of course, like bwf, I'm the only one qualified in my household to change it. Do they have courses on this in college? Is it an advanced degree?

I really like it to hang over the front, it looks much neater for some reason.

Hanging over the front is easier to use.

When it hangs in the back it can get in the floor.
