August 18, 200719 yr Author Just getting ready to post this and you guys beat me to it. Congrats to Brandon Webb - 42 scoreless innings and counting!!:flame:
August 18, 200719 yr He would need two more starts and maybe three, based upon whether the coaches allow him to finish. Assuming a five-man rotation, his next three starts should be: Tuesday, August 28 @ San Diego Sunday, September 2 vs. Colorado Saturday, September 8 vs. St. Louis Should be interesting. Best of luck!

August 18, 200719 yr What's the record? 54? 56? I know Drysdale had a streak going at one point and it appeared that it was over when he hit a batter with bases loaded. However, the batter was called back after Blue said he didn't make any attempt to get out of the way. He then was put out and the streak continued. I believe Giants catcher Dick Dietz was the batter.

August 23, 200719 yr The streak is over at 42 1/3 innings. Congrats to Brandon on a great, great accomplishment.
August 23, 200719 yr Brandon still gets the win improving his record to 14-8, and lowering his ERA to 2.63 as he pitches 7 innings giving up 2 ER in the D'Backs 3-2 win. I wish I could find that thread from Webbs rookie year where I believe I was nearly the only one that stated that Webb would end up being the better pitcher over that Willis guy from Florida. :D
August 23, 200719 yr It was funny cause I was considering coming on here and starting a Track the Webb thread during tonight's game. I get back on and see the streak ended in the first inning, goodness knows I would have been blamed for it, so I'm glad I didn't start ANYTHING. Congrats to him on a wonderful streak and now he has a really great shot at maybe 17 or 18 wins.
