August 15, 200719 yr Rowan started the 9th . Most schools do have AC, the buses don't. I would have to say that in the evenings they are 100 degrees or more with all the kids , that is too hot. It can be compared to leaving a child in a car. Some children are on the bus an hour or more. Carroll County started the 7th and the kids are really hot on the buses, especially while they are sitting still waiting for the other schools to release the kids. I am not sure that it is safe.....Many parents are trying to pick up their children because of this.
August 16, 200719 yr Gets tiresome having to work then to class or vise versa. Yea I agree, It'd be great just having one or the other, then to top it off I try to have a social life. Anyhow, what can ya do I'm just blessed I have an employer that reimburses me for most of my education.

Remeber all work and no play makes sportsfan a dull man.
August 19, 200719 yr Most school systems are starting the school years earlier because of CATS testing. The testing window is the last two weeks of April and the first week of May. The schools want to make sure the content is covered before that time. That's why you are seeing schools getting out the second and third weeks of May if they don't have a bad winter.

August 20, 200719 yr Well, by now almost everyone is back. I for one wish I had picked up a couple extra shifts this summer. School supplies, school fees, pta fees, parking fees, etc., etc., etc.,:scared: Then, next week I send one off to college:scared: :scared: :scared:
