Clemens Ejected after Retaliation

IMO yes. I also believe you aren't allowed doing the 2nd one....Something about not being able to deceive the runner.

Thats a crock because people do it all the time.

Not true. You're thinking of a high school rule that prevents a fake tag.

That must be it. :thumb: I knew there was something, just not sure of what it was.

Should the catcher not be able to fake the batter by acting like he's setting up inside by making a false movement?

Should a pitcher not be allowed to fake to third then throw to first?

These are all examples of deception, right?

No. We simply disagree. I think almost all is fair in competition. I don't put much stock into the unwritten rules of baseball.

Oh come on don't be such an adult

Sometimes I must.

He just has a different opinion of to play the game the right way. He's more highbrow than I.

On top of it being the second night in a row they threw at A-Rod. Towers was jawing to A-Rod while he was standing on first base, after the benches cleared and everyone calmed down.

You could not mistake what Clemens was doing. Like a professional, right in the #'s. The funniest part was Clemens just stood there, almost like..."I know you're not coming out here, you know you're not coming out here and your mama knows you're not coming out here..."

:thumb: :thumb: :D Absolutely, RC also had a talk with the ump after being ejected and just his look and actions were as if he was saying something like "yeah, I hit him, I meant to hit him, they go after one of my teammates and I will hit them again! You (ump) let this thing get out of had, they have been throwing at us for 2 nights. O.K., I have had my say and I will now quietly leave, thank you."..... Like I said, that was just my idea of it

Also, did anyone pick up on all the Yankees giving Roger high 5's when he came off the field and into the dugout then into the tunnel :ylsuper: :ylsuper: This just may have been what this team needed to really get them going. Of course they are going pretty good right now as it is ;) .

"You talkin to me?"

Yep. I'm sure it was as refreshing to them as it was to me...

I can't put into words how much respect I have for Clemens...

Intentionally throwing at someone deserves a suspension.

Blah, blah, blah...

Intentionally throwing at someone's head, deserves suspension. Protecting your teammates deserves respect...

When it's one of your players being plunked, I would hope that you feel different about it.

Not to get off topic here, but since you were so vocal about the Vince Young thing, does he get more respect for sticking up for one of his teammates?

If it's one of my players, it's high school or D knothole. Yeah, I'd have a bit of a problem with it. :D

Apples and hand grenades, since he didn't throw at his own teammate...:p
