Top 4 at least are right to work states. Don't think it's a coincidence. That is one thing Fletcher tried to change but was defeated.

Good point.

How ironic it is that unions who are supposed to be so concerned with the rights of workers are so adamently opposed to workers' rights to choose whether or not to participate in the union itself.

The shocker and sad one is Michigan at #46.

I don't really consider it a shocker. The collapse of GM and Ford have to be major factors in this ranking imo. According to the Forbes article, Michigan ranks #50 in economic climate (thanks to the economic demise of the auto industry), #44 in labor rank (thanks to the UAW), #47 in growth potential (again this is probably auto industry related since so many small businesses in Michigan that manufacture component parts for the auto industry are dependent on the health of the auto industry), and #40 in business costs which is probably a combination of regulatory costs and unionized labor costs.

It's not a shocker whatsoever....I used to be a mortgage banker and when we did loans in Michigan we noticed many, many depriciating markets in the state, this was due to the loss of thousands of blue collar jobs...Michigan is beautiful, but is hurting BIG TIME.
