A-Rod clears the 500 barrrier

Good for him. I am sure he was very glad to get that over with.

Actually yes, he sure was, in fact he said it TWICE, once he got back to the dug out.

I just think he will catch the Griffey disease in the next few years. I know AROD is in better shape than Griffey was at the same age. But Griffey didn't miss hardly any games, once he hit that age 30-33 everything went askew.

I would love to see AROD break whatever record Barry sets, but he has got a long, long way to go.

I kinda agree man, their careers almost mirror each other, Griffey and A-Rod I mean. I hope that he does SMOKE Bonds record, but I just dunno that he can keep it up with his health for that long.

If he does stay healthy, AND stays in New York he will break the record easily. The reason I say stay in NY is becuase as long as he is there, he will have a great lineup around him, and will not be walked every single time.

I hope he stays healthy, but it is much easier to stay away from the injuries Griff had in the infield than in the outfield, where diving you could easily seperate a shoulder or do the things Griffey did.

Very good point, do you think the Big Wigs in NY will keep this in mind when considering his future with the team? Do you think he will? As for as money, they'd probably rake in close to the same either way, but to have another HOF, and or records, seems like they might want that.

He said some nice things in the press room.

Man are we hitting the ball![/QUOTE]

You play for the Yankees???:scared: :scared:

So who are you really? Jeter, Jorge,or even Wilson? C'mon don't hold back......

Of course you knew that A-Rod would come up with such a big hit in a 16-8 squeaker over the Royals....

No way AROD gets hurt like Griffey has. Infielders just don't spend that much time on the DL. Griffey got hurt diving for fly balls and running into the wall. Griffey easily could have dogged it in the outfield and would not have seen the injuries he has had. But he goes full out every play and with that will come injuries when in the outfield. Especially as a player gets older.

I can't see ARod missing 3 and 4 seasons basically with injuries, but I can see him getting more knicked up here and there, making it more and more difficult to maintain that level he is at.

With that said, he has put himself in great position to challenge A LOT of the offensive records before his career his over.

102 runs in the last 8 games...."WE" are killing the tater. I wish I knew how to make the "WE" Yankee blue.

While an impressive accomplishment, it is somewhat misleading when you look at the teams they've been playing....

Are you saying the White Sox and Kansas City are weak teams this year?? :p

 I'm saying I don't think the Yankees have played a team with a winning record since the All-Star break.

Just checking.

They are a fun team to watch in the regular season with that offense, but it's been proven the last few years. Their pitching isn't good enough and those bats go cold against great pitching when the 2nd season starts.

I don't think that the Red Sox have played anyone much better bc they have played a lot of the same teams. Anything to cut the Yankees  . I love it!!

Yankees are 7 GB in the East and are 1/2 game back in the wild card I believe. - It ain't over till' it's over ;) .

What does it matter who he hits it off of??
