August 6, 200719 yr I don't think that the Red Sox have played anyone much better bc they have played a lot of the same teams. Anything to cut the Yankees  . I love it!! Yankees are 7 GB in the East and are 1/2 game back in the wild card I believe. - It ain't over till' it's over . Last time I checked the Mariners were 11 games over .500......Nice try though.
August 6, 200719 yr What does it matter who he hits it off of??  I believe he was talking about how ARod can't cut it when it really matters....the postseason.
August 6, 200719 yr Last time I checked the Mariners were 11 games over .500......Nice try though. I realize that they were playinf the M's, they do play the same teams and the Red Sox has played those weak teams as well. Just having some fun with how people just love to jump on the Yankees. I would also think that those same people don't want to see the Yanks in or have to play them in the playoffs but they would never admit it.

I don't want to see the Yankees in the playoffs, but not because I think they'd beat the Sox, because well their pitching sucks. You can't win in the post season with bad pitching and the Yanks is pretty bad IMO. I don't want them to make the playoffs because it would be funny for a team that spends upwards $200 million to not make it.

August 6, 200719 yr     That was weak as well     Well, Pay-Rod's teams are 3-6 in postseason series including the biggest choke in postseason history. He's a big reason why the record is what it is. Here's his stats: 35 Games 132 ABs 19 Runs 37 Hits 9 2Bs 0 3Bs 6 HRs 16 RBIs 15 BBs 32 Ks .280 Avg. He's also 3-29 with no homers or RBIs and 9 Ks in his last 2 postseason series--not exactly clutch.
August 6, 200719 yr UK...you are entitled, but I believe you know sports. Does A-Rod or the Yanks pick the teams he (they) play?...Good grief the man has 500 HRs. The Cry Sox plays the same teams I think.
August 6, 200719 yr Jump on the Yankees what? Bandwagon??? :sssh: I don't know if yu are referring to me or not but there is no bandwagon here, I have always been a Yankees fan.

I believe that the Sox have spent quite a chunk of change as well the last few years :sssh: and weren't they after A-Rod as well at one time (when the Yanks got him) ?? Hmmmm, I guess his 500 hr's would somehow be more meaningful if that were the case.

August 6, 200719 yr Come in there OLD, tell it like it is preacher man. These Yankee bashers can't hold a candle to you.:jump:

Are you saying that the Red Sox wouldn't want him?? Read my previous post - I believe that they wanted him as well, of course as I said that would be different. My personal opinion is that the Red Sox need to learn a little bit on how to handle sucsess with class since they have experienced a little bit of it lately. I really respect the Red Sox... Really. As you have said before about the Yankees, I want to beat the crap out of them but I do respect them.

Oh, and they do have a World Series Title to show for it--the Yankees have put up a big donut with that $200 million payroll. But at least they did set postseason history during that span by losing a series they led 3-0. :fire:
