July 30, 200719 yr Know nothing about Maloney but I liked Lohse's pitches, just not always the location he threw them into. I'll have to learn more, about a AA pitcher and one, that has proven he can win at the MLB level.
July 30, 200719 yr Is Maloney big league Ready? and I don't see how this deal makes sense unless we are looking to get rid of Arroyo, because of the fact that after Harang and Arroyo, we already have 3 pitchers in are own system (Bailey, Livingston, and Durmrit sp?) that we plan on using to complete are pitching staff.

Lohse was a free agent at the end of the year. The Reds weren't going to resign him. The Reds get a decent young LH out of the deal instead of getting nothing for Lohse at the end of the season.
