Luke Maley from CCH must be on that list somewhere... he may lead one of the best teams in the region in scoring and rebounding next year. His preformance in the 9th region tournament as a sophomore at least cracks him into the top 6,7, or 8... to play that well with such a senior dominated/talented team last year and the crazy substitution pattern at CCH says something

Henderson definately at this point IMO... I was thinking Maile somewhere in there too, just don't know where...

I think your list looks fine except for John Maley of Ryle. He is not a top ten player. Maley didn't even start most of the time last year and never made a name for himself.

 

If McGraw from Highlands plays this year, he will be a top ten player.

I do have to give John Maley one bit of Kudo's.

 

He had a dunk in a FRESHMAN game a couple years ago that caught everyone off guard. He threw it down like it was his job. I have heard that he has suffered from some back problems, but it wasn't his back that had problems that night, it was the backBOARD!!!!

 

Hope to see you excel this year John. Keep working hard.

The 9th will be down big time this year. A lot of good players have and will move on the past two years. It will be very interesting to see some of the players that step up and make a difference in the region.

I would love to have a better opinion concerning Luke. He had a fantastic sophomore season and will be a huge part of the Covington Catholic team this season. I came on staff at the beggining of June but have yet to see him play because of baseball. I understand that he is a stud on the baseball field.

 

If he springboards off of his sophomore year he would be #6 or #7 on my list. He is going to be fun to watch.

There were no DI's last year, but the 9th region has never been a hotbed for producing D1 talent in basketball. This year's class has no D1 talent in it either.

Austin Hill was probably the only D-1 talent last year but his grades and test scores didn't allow for that to happen.

D1's isn't a good indicator of talent around here. Last year's list would have had no problem finding 10 players worthy of making a list, while many struggle to find 5 people to round out this list.

That makes sense. If there is no D1 talent then that wouldn't be a good indicator. Sure seems like there has been a dropoff over the years.
