July 11, 200719 yr I'm going with Tuesday after the NCAA basketball championship game. You have 2 weeks of March Madness, then the Final 4, the NC game and MLB opening day. Then nothing. :thumb: :thumb:
July 11, 200719 yr I don't know if the Reds are going to move Griffey or not but if it were me I would have to have one heck of a lot for him. Imo kep Griffey, he is playing very well and he puts butt's in the seats. (although that is the time to move him if you're going to), Keep Phillps, Hamilton, Harrang and "maybe" Arroyo. Any an everyone else is negotiable and on the block.
July 11, 200719 yr "I don't worry about perceptions," Krivsky said. "I worry about reality. We're trying to make quality baseball decisions whether they help us win games now or later."

July 11, 200719 yr Homer and Votto are UNTOUCHABLE Homer, Votto, Bruce, Phillips, Hamilton, and Harang are untouchable. Everyone else like Dunn, Griff (for the right price), Ross, Freel, Hatteburg, COnine, Valintine, and we might get some solid prospects, 1 or 2, for Arroyo.
July 12, 200719 yr Homer and Votto are UNTOUCHABLE Why would Votto be untouchable? They traded Ben Broussard didn't they? That didn't haunt them too much. Those two are very similar. They may well keep Joey and put him at first, and that is fine, but there is NO WAY that I'd hang up on another GM wanting to talk about a deal that benefited the Reds that included Joey Votto. Come on now...
July 12, 200719 yr I think Jay Bruce is more untouchable than Votto. Absolutely! I'm telling you, Votto could be had for a song and a hurler, he really could. He is a nice player, but not a franchise type of player. Not even close. He is nearly 24, and while tearing up "AAA", that isn't always an indicator of much for guys that age. Remember Brandon Larson? Again, I like Votto, and I'd be fine if they dealt Hatteberg and played Votto at first against righties....I'm just saying he isn't the super-star savior that some on here are making him out to be. He could be George Brett or he could be John Mabry. Frankly, I'd bet he'll end up being pretty close to Ben Broussard. Really.
July 12, 200719 yr Votto isn't going anywhere either. In 2009, the Reds will have an infield of Votto (1B), Phillips (2b), Jerry Gill (ss), and Encarnacion (3B). The outfield will be someone in left, Hamilton in center and Bruce in right. I don't that as too shabby if Votto, Hamilton, and Bruce continue to develop.

I think I've posted at least twice this year that I think the 2009 Opening Day outfield will be Dunn -- Hamilton -- Bruce. I'll look for my exact post from a month or so ago....
July 12, 200719 yr From June 21 -- For the record Black Ant, I do think the starting OF in April of 2009 will look like this: Dunn -- LF Hamilton -- CF Bruce -- RF With: Encarnacion -- 3B "Oustide Organization" -- SS Phillips -- 2B Votto -- 1B "Outside Organization" -- C
